      After week 47

      2022:
       4.00 million
      2021: 4.69 million
      2020: 4.84 million
      2019: 3.36 million
      2018: 2.32 million
      2017: 2.41 million

4m in two days, only the next mainline Pokemon or AC is beating that.

Barring either a sudden collapse of supply or a major tracking error on our current numbers, it looks like Switch's 2022 is well on track to finish ahead of 2019.

I wonder when the first 5 million launch will happen or if it'll ever happen. With the declining population 4 million flat might very well be close to the upper limit of what's feasible there.

Do you mean worldwide numbers? 2019 is around 19.3 million isn't it? That would be a decent number to beat and 2022 should beat it by 1 million or a little more.

In Japan, I meant. So 4.49m.

Just 500k to go with 5 weeks left, so it has to average 100k or more for every remaining week, something that it has managed to do in every previous year.

PS5 has already surpassed holiday sales for 2021 with 5 weeks to spare. I still don't think there is enough stock though.
