Would be great if Nintendo allows the Switch to be used as a secondary map, inventory, stat device for the Switch 2. So many possibilities, and the install base of that peripheral is absolutely ginormous.

Had a WiiU and enjoyed it a lot, but it is probably the only system I regret buying and the only system I sold without having a newer version of the same system.
Played a lot of Smash and Mario Maker and sold it when Mario Maker 2 was released on the Switch. Smash Ultimate and Mario Maker 2 are so similar that I saw no reason to keep the WiiU to play the older versions. But I think the controls with the pad is still better on WiiU for Mario Maker and the amiibo support was also better for the first Mario Maker.

The WiiU era was kind of bad. I did not really like the WiiU console or the 3DS for that matter, and I can't think of any lasting memories from them. I still used them a lot, played my older DS games on the 3DS and Smash and Mario maker on the WiiU as stated. Would probably have sold my 3DS as well if I did not buy so many older gems from the store. I guess many are in the same situation with the WiiU since one of its biggest strengths is the large virtual console and E-shop library.

The WiiU is firmly placed last in my personal console ranking of systems that I have owned. The best thing the WiiU did was to make Nintendo spawn the Switch.

I'm a bit late, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY WII U!

It is for me one of the best consoles I have ever had, where I spent thousand of hours playing MK8, Zelda BOTW, NintendoLand, Mario Maker and the above all, Splatoon.

For me, the Wii U means reconnecting with my childhood and with Nintendo.

God bless the Wii U!

That was the last console I ever geeked on. I didn’t want to get it but ended scouring for one at launch. Went full digital and bout a terabyte of games that I eventuality beat. I sold it as Nintendo left a bad taste with me.

I enjoyed the Wii U especially the Ubisoft games. Everyone hated on those but they f-ing amazing. I 100%’d a lot of them. I used the Wii U for porn ALOT! Met cool friend on miiverse. Joined some people from here on the D&D remake. Lots of good times.

miiverse and porn in the same sentence, the mind boggles

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

Lol. That's how I discovered this site ... wanted to track how bad my "investment" was doing.

I still have my pre-order unit. It's an absolute BEAST when it comes to emulation as it runs Wii and GC games natively + thanks to its gamepad, DS games play great, not to mention off TV gameplay for non-dual screen games.

Agree with Jumpin.

Not only had most gamers already played these games months or even years prior, but these games were not very good ports.

How many of these thied party games were exclusive or had exclusive content to the Wii U?

I own every game on the Wii U, including almost all the digital games. These ports were not very good on the Wii U in many ofntje cases. Even I, someone who does not play other systems much, could tell that the games were an after thought for the Wii U.

It would have been different if these games were just coming out on the other systems as well and we're of thense caliber.

I wish I could use the Switch as a gamepad. My gamepad will not last much longer. Already have to play mostly on the charger or with regular remote.

It feels like this system just came out not that long ago. I still have fresh memories of trying this out at one of the Wii U events leading up to release and liking what I played as well as spending hours with friends in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and by myself in Xenoblade Chronicles X. It's such a shame the system never caught on. To this day it still has Nintendo's best attempt at a good online setup and the best media capabilities in a Nintendo system. And the store and UI were far better than what Switch has despite it loading way slower.
