Had a WiiU and enjoyed it a lot, but it is probably the only system I regret buying and the only system I sold without having a newer version of the same system.
Played a lot of Smash and Mario Maker and sold it when Mario Maker 2 was released on the Switch. Smash Ultimate and Mario Maker 2 are so similar that I saw no reason to keep the WiiU to play the older versions. But I think the controls with the pad is still better on WiiU for Mario Maker and the amiibo support was also better for the first Mario Maker.

The WiiU era was kind of bad. I did not really like the WiiU console or the 3DS for that matter, and I can't think of any lasting memories from them. I still used them a lot, played my older DS games on the 3DS and Smash and Mario maker on the WiiU as stated. Would probably have sold my 3DS as well if I did not buy so many older gems from the store. I guess many are in the same situation with the WiiU since one of its biggest strengths is the large virtual console and E-shop library.

The WiiU is firmly placed last in my personal console ranking of systems that I have owned. The best thing the WiiU did was to make Nintendo spawn the Switch.
