Its not the worst thing ive played....

I wonder if these reviews will even have any impact, SoT and SoD2 both had the infamous 69 metas and both became massive hits lol

Thank god for Game Pass, without it I think this game would be dead in the water

Should put that in the accolades trailer.

For every shitty rated game that ended up doing well, there's a shitty game that ended up completely bombing... aka Days Gone, Forespoken, Crackdown. I think the difference is post launch support. SoD 2 and SoT have both incredible support after launch with active fixes, new content. Same with No Man's Sky. I don't see Redfall following that trend. I feel like it's more of a Saints Row situation (won't tank the studio), but will just be a game they move on from as soon as possible.

Yea it seems like there is no room for a fun AA title anymore, it either has to be triple A or a indie looking game to be praised. Im fine with fun AA games, I even enjoyed Gungrave Gore

You could probably use Hi-Fi Rush and Redfall as an example here

Hi-Fi Rush was amazing, still the highest rated title this year, but once Redfall (the AAA) releases to bad scores it's going to be "Bethesda is trash, awful company, can't make good games anymore, Xbox ruined them" etc. etc.

Feel sorry that Arkane is about to experience what it's like to have their studio/games used as console war fodder too as a punching bag, console warriors wanting it to fail since day one, the trolling, etc. Discourse will be terrible for Starfield, Lol.

Pretty weird behaviour to see OpenCritic shitting on it before it's even out too, not a good look.

I mean, tbf. Xbots do tend to want to give credit to MS for games like Psychonauts 2 so you kind of have to take the L's too. Even if the game was in development well before Xbox acquired Bethesda (Arkane). Psychonauts 2 was announced back in 2015, well before Xbox got the studio in 2019. I know MS did actually provide meaningful support/resources to help with Psychonauts 2 in the two years Double Fine was under Xbox and then released. Which the Zenimax studios have been under Xbox for two years now as well.

Yeah we can't have it both ways. Nauts 2, and Hi Fi were both before acquisition.. so can't credit those W's if you don't want to credit the Redfall Ls

I dont think you could pay me to finish kh 3 tbh

My VERY early first impressions of Redfall:

- Cool ambience/atmosphere
- Solid Gunplay, but 30fps hurts it
- AI, particularly for human enemies, is dumb as shit
- Kinda goes with the previous point, but standard difficulty is far too easy, gonna bump it up tomorrow/later today
- World feels a bit empty so far, and I'm wondering how enemy numbers and difficulty scale with multiple players
- Graphics are definitely underwhelming, moreso than I actually expected. Some of the lighting is pretty nice, but a lot of the texture work is noticeably weak
- Already finding some cool guns
- Leveling is either fairly slow, or tied primarily to completing missions, not sure, I mainly ran around and did random shit
- I liked the way the story opens, but then it immediately transitions into an open world hub and you get standard "hey go do stuff missions" so I question how engaging it'll actually be

Again, all very very early impressions, I don't even have more than my first character ability, and I've only fought a few different enemy types, but so far I can absolutely see why it would be a 6-7/10 game, depending on the metric. Not seen anything that would justify a 4 as of yet tho.

I agree with pretty much everything you stated.  I started with the nightmare or whatever it's called difficulty and so far, not that hard.  Human AI as you stated basically there to empty your weapon on.

When the first cutscene happen I was like, hey, the graphics on this game looks fine until you actually play then you see that well it looks AA quality.  When you have very impressive games like God of War, Ratchet and Clank, The last of US basically just about every first party game to come out of Sony studios, Redfall looks like it was built during the Xbox one era.  I will say I really like the lighting, but the textures and poly count is very low and the fanboys are going to have a field day with the game.  I also have not played enough of the game to judge the gameplay just yet as I believe there is a lot to do and the skill tree of the characters, I am playing looks promising.

Looking at the game you would definitely think their is no way this did not come out of the gates with 60fps so it will be interesting to see what the issue is.  Besides that, I will continue to play and hopefully get some co-op in as well.

SO far I would say that the it feels like a lock 30fps, as I did not encounter any dips but then again I have not really faced a lot of enemies yet either.
