I dont get this strategy at all. Sounds like its just more about getting a few more sales for certain games than actually growing anything.

So I watched/listen to it and it was pretty much what I expected. The new high end system will be aimed at the extreme enthusiasts because there’s no way that thing ain’t £600+ who pretty much main Xbox systems regardless. The four games are no loss to me as I didn’t play 3 of them, shame I can’t double dip on Starfield (yet) … and yeah doesn’t change anything for me.

Tbf, Sea of Thieves crossed the 30 million player threshold in June 2022 and Grounded past the 15 million player threshold in December 2022. 

So these are already well established GAAS titles. So can't really fault Sony in that regard since they're only now making headway into the live service market. 

There is one big problem with Redfall right now. They sold people the more expensive bite back edition which was supposed to have 2 future DLC characters. 9 months after launch now, and those DLC characters have not yet been announced by Arkane, though they did say in their update 3 patch notes that the new heroes would be added in 2024. If they just abandon the game now without designing those DLC characters they'd be opening themselves up to a potential lawsuit, unless they refund all people the added $30 cost of the Bite Back Edition/standalone upgrade. 

Still find it interesting they let these rumors go wild for so long... A tweet or statement could have done the job, no?

Does it make Xbox look better.  You just named a few games on Nintendo system but can you name or even care about 50% of the exclusives that come to the system.  That goes the same for Playstation.  Its not about the quantity its about the quality.  The staples that define your console is what make consumers purchase the system.  Some games really just need a bigger audience and if they are successful on other platforms, the sequel will make you want it more but are you willing to wait 2 years before you get that sequel is the case.

Sheesh, guess this is why you don't promise DLC content in advance I guess. 

Well technically we dont know which four games yet. I mean it was prooved that we cant trust leakers on this.

I tried explaining this to you earlier. lol Have certain Xbox games, whether smaller niche games or live service games on other platforms that allows for some additional sales, expose players to the kinds of games Xbox makes, players see games like Indiana Jones and Starfield are on Xbox, BAM, new potential Xbox console customer. 

If you send your major system selling IPs like Gears of War or Halo to competing platforms, you're massively devaluing the console.
