Took like 30 in game hours I'd say.
Amazing game from top to bottom for me. If you like Yakuza, you'll pick this up probably. Does a great job with tying in the events of 7 and setting up for 8. Akame was a great addition as a main cast in the game as well and held her own. Not too many prominent female stars in yakuza that aren't either killed off for plot, but the ones that are featured are very layered.
Loved the addition of the gadgets, made you feel like a certain someone. Very short, but kind of what I expected. Lot of pretty good side activity, but not the best in the series. I was under the impression the cabaret club management sim would return based on tweets, but it was the singular one, not management. If you doing the cabaret club, make sure you alone, lmao. It feels almost... life like; the women that is.
Pocket circuit is back and even better. Side stories are handled like Judgement unfortunately. You go to the one person and get them when you level up the network. I wish it was like before where you just run into them naturally in the world. Takes place partially in Ijincho, and then Sotenbori. The other area is crazy in glitz and glamour as well. Really breathtaking when you first see it.
I wasn't a big fan of the secondary minigame the clan thing. On platinum rank everyone is just a massive hp sponge. Amon fight cheap as always. You do have to get the network to at least gold to progress the story, and those who blow through main story only won't be happy about that, but I did side activity as it came, so wasn't a problem for me.
Story itself was also woven nicely together and paced what you would expect. Ending actually broke me, not going to lie. Cried like a bitch. Why I can't wait to see how Yong yea butchers that. Great symbolism with the changing of the guards and times as well, presented very well too.
Can't wait to go to Hawaii with Infinite Wealth.
Planned on playing the demo, but decided not to as I would just be sad.
Pre-ordered the ultimate 110 bootlicker edition and buying it physical.
My fave series.
