Splatoon 2 was at 5.11mil with digital as of the end of March 2022. Splatoon 3 should surpass it this month, within 3 weeks.

DQ X Offline's sales result makes it even more obvious that future DQ games will all be on Nintendo systems. It has also been completely sold out. A big second week drop wouldn't be surprising.

Concerning XBS sales I think this still just represents what has been shipped to the country.

Well their was also a small xbox promotion going on because of TGS.

From now on we will most likely see a lot of Xbox outselling PS in Japan until a big PS release, or stock increase due to price hike.

What's very interesting is that Splatoon 3 was the most viewed console game streamed in China by a large percent, despite the game not having an official launch in China yet. This further proves that consoles from different region (most likely Japan) goes to China, since the Chinese version of the Switch is apparently region locked. So out of the 127,000 Switches that were sold in Japan this week, there is a possibility some of that is exported to China/other region every week.

Good performance on Xbox. This is a huge turnaround from the One in Japan which was like not present at all basically. Switch staying at high grounds for HW, didn't think a game would give it a solid boost like that from hardware over several weeks. S3 really is a big system seller even if S2 was already on Switch. We can thank the amazing OLED edition which they killed it on the design.

I wonder how big of a system seller Pokemon S/V will be.

Wow to Xbox!! This week Xbox sold almost a quarter what its YTD numbers were from last year at this time! Crazy how much it has grown in Japan this year. Lack of desire for and lack of availability of PS5 is giving Xbox a huge opportunity in Japan.

Switch killing it again. 500k S3 sales! So with digital that means it should be over 4.1m now after two weeks. It will soar over 5m (with digital) in October. By end of next month only AC, Smash, MK, and maybe Sw/Sh will be beating it in Japan.

Also another note, nsw hardware selling out. Possibly shortages as well. Splatoon 3 is also a huge system seller so we can put that to rest as well. Even if splatoon 2 sold 5mil, there will be 3mil-5mil new consumers in the next few years with splatoon 3 as that game will sell over 8mil lifetime In japan
