The resolution is bumped up with every release on the Expansion Pack. Gamexplain put out a comparison video of footage shown compared to actual N64 gameplay, and it's night and day. I can't say how framerate will be though till release lol

Sadly though, Emulation quality can be very hit or miss on Switch's expansion pass. Some games minus the bump in resolution/framerate were massive visual step backs from the original vision with poor/no rendered fog, artifacts and more.

They are improving over time though, but I would rather buy these games outright, rather than pay a subscription fee.

I prefer 'buying' as well, except they rarely carry over from system to system.  I already bought those games on the Wii U.  I'm getting tired of rebuying them.

Subscription services have become a plague.

Except with subscription services you lose your previous save data come next console, and there's no guarantee that all games from the previous console's subscription service will carry over.

Can't say I ever understood why people care so much about saved data.  If I replay Ocarina I'm not loading final game, I will be creating a new file.  And there is no evidence that games from the current subscription won't carry over.

These issues were actually completely fixed by the time F-Zero X was released back in March. All fog and artifact issues in games like Mario Kart 64 and especially Ocarina of Time being the biggest culprit. There was a bug with the Kirby 64 release, but was quickly fixed. I don't hear of any complaints honestly with the service. Maybe online play still being P2P and the fact these games are exclusively tied to a subscription service lol

Here's a breakdown of the service being fixed

Yeah I was about to say that Nintendo has FINALLY tied everything to Nintendo Accounts, so there is evidence that everything from our Switch will carry over.

I agree 100%.  No doubt it will start carrying over now that Nintendo has a real account system.

It's called not wanting your in-game progress to be wasted. I finally 100 percent completed Super Mario World, and I don't know if I'll ever be able to find time to do it again, what with all the rampant diseases, climate change and war fucking things up for all of us.

And it does what exactly?  You load your game and stare at the game file?  Unless a game has New Game+ I don't see the point in old save files.  But each too their own.

I'm hoping Nintendo has a full-blown ecosystem that will be portable across generations. I have a huge Switch library and would like to see continuity on Switch 2/Pro/Whatever.

The technical issues with the N64 NSO games have all been fixed a long time ago.
How many people are there who won't subscribe simply because they think that half the games are broken or riddled with bugs or something despite it mostly having been Ocarina of Time alone?

And, bear in mind Nintendo is my favorite developer, there is no excuse not to have an ecosystem.  When I got my ps5 I unplugged my external drive from my ps4...  plugged it into my ps5..  done.

Were people not satisfied with the Goldeneye remake on Wii 360 and PS3?

Far from the same games
