Forums - Nintendo - Updated Sales numbers for some NSW games (6months) DK/Yoshi/Fire Emblem

Damn did some of these games really do nearly half a mil in 6 months? Yoshi's Crafted World in particular is suprising.

Tragic to see that Astral Chain barely moved though. I really think they could have done more to market it.

Tropical Freeze deserves every sale it gets

Brain Training is a million seller as of the end of 2020 at 1.05mil.

Is the source of this a reliable one? Like where can we look this up ourselves? If it is reliable, you should submit this info to Machina, so that the database here can be updated!

The source is this book from the game market research company CESA:

It's basically from Nintendo themselves, since they submitted the data to CESA for the CESA Games White Paper.

Nice to get updates for these mid-level titles that don’t sell over 1 million each fiscal year.

I'm not sure it'd have made a big difference. They gave the game a big announcement near the end of a Nintendo Direct and no one bat an eye, probably because it didn't have a name people knew.

It's crazy how much Nintendo fans expect everything to be a remake or sequel, all I remember seeing in the reactions to Astral Chain's trailer was people thinking it was a Xenoblade X sequel, then being weirded out by it being something else, and moving on to getting hyped like crazy for a remaster of a Game Boy game.

That's not how I remember it at all. I remember people being hyped for a new Platinum game, but found it odd that it was coming out before Bayonetta 3.

1-2-Switch - 3.45 million (140k+)
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze - 3.42 million (490k+)
Kirby Star Allies - 3.42 million (270k+)
Fire Emblem Three Houses - 3.40 million (380k+)
ARMS - 2.56 million (90k+)
Yoshi's Crafted World - 2.56 million (470k+)
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 - 2.17 million (120k+)
Octopath Traveler (Outside Japan) - 1.90 million (220k+)
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker - 1.77 million (190k+)
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX - 1.60 million (170k+)
Nintendo Labo 01 - 1.42 million (+50k)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order - 1.31 million (+180k)
ASTRAL CHAIN - 1.21 million (+70k)

Good numbers for Tropical Freeze, but I was hoping it'd be higher. Same with Yoshi's Crafted World. Kinda heartbreaking that, of all games listed here, one of the ones that outsold Tropical Freeze was 1-2 Switch. -_-

Tropical Freeze released way later than 1-2-Switch and has better legs. It definitely already outsold 1-2-Switch.

Then the VGChartz database needs to be updated for these games.

These numbers in the op are the newest numbers. I mean in 2021 Tropical Freeze 100% outsold 1-2-Switch. With how it sold in the second half of 2020 it should be at 4mil now if it's legs held up in 2021.
