Well, that's a bummer.
I wonder if that's because they're planning to do Switch launch 2.0. New Switch with the new BOTW, exactly 6 years later
so half of what I said came true. now the next half of what I said was that it would be on Nintendo Switch 2

Hmmmm, care to elaborate? This sounds like an enticing proposition lol

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind
What I got out of that is “We fucked up. The whole idea of bouncing between mini-islands floating in the air felt like half Breath of the Wild and half Super Mario Galaxy, but not as fun as either. So we need to add a bunch more things to make it great! Did we unveil this game way too fucking early again? Blame Mr Fujibayashi!”
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
Called it last year but better late than rushed considering how many games these days come out with a ton of issues.
PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850
Not surprised. Nintendo wants to space out their releases more anyways.
I wish people would stop assuming delays on major games for first party games is entirely, or mostly, or even a little based on that dev team being able to make the game in time. Stop assuming they think the same way third parties do. The primary objective of major, expensive AAA exclusive first party games is to push hardware at the most advantaged time, causing a new chunk of users to join the ecosystem and be that much closer to buying more, cheaper to make, easier-to-profit-from games. Zelda, 3d Mario, Mariokart all come out when Nintendo determines is the smartest time for them to come out. The vagueness of what they needed this extra time for and lack of elaboration only further proves this point. Nintendo doesn't mind lying when it benefits their grand plan at profit making.
Zelda was probably only announced as a 2022 game back in the day because they didn't expect sales to keep going at the rate they have, partially due to competitors not being able to make enough consoles due to supply shortages and buying Switch devices instead. Absolutely no reason to release this holiday when Switch is going to sell out regardless. No one sells out in Spring, however, so perfect timing.

Don't forget about Starfield in the mix. If the game is half what Bethesda is hyping it up to be with it being a more hardcore RPG like Morrowind, then we're in for something special. |
I feel Bethesda has more to prove with Starfield than Sony does with God of War. The later is almost guaranteed to be a front runner along with Eldin Ring. Starfield however is Bethesda's first big single player RPG since Fallout 4...which was a good game....but not GotY material by any means.
So I see Starfield and a wildcard or under dog. The game will likely be great...but matching up to the other two is debatable at this point. We still know so little about it too. I would not be suprised if they pull it off, but I would not put money on it either.
Saw this coming from miles away. He said "Targeting 2022". Not even a season was confirmed then. I hope this game delivers. It would be 6 years since BOTW when it launches. That's a long time between 3D Zelda releases. Especially considering they're reusing the game world and engine.
