Reading a lot of games from these lists. I feel like a lot of people don't know that some games they listed were indeed made available on later platforms. Some examples from what I read:
Super Mario RPG (Wii/Wii U)
Persona 4 (PS3/PSVita)
Panzer Dragoon Orta (Xbox One/Xbox Series)
Gunvalkrie (Xbox One/Xbox Series)
Otogi (Xbox One/Xbox Series)
Dead or alive 3 (Xbox One/Xbox Series)
Metroid Prime 1 + 2 (Wii/Wii U)
Chrono Trigger (DS/PS1/Wii)
Pokemon Gold/Silver (DS/3DS)
Legend of Dragoon (PS3/PSP/PSVita)

Sadly the downside of digital-only games and why I always prefer physical.  I knew about X-men but Simpsons I was not aware of at all.  I'm pretty shocked that I missed it.  I definitely don't want to buy a Arcade 1up just to play these games.

I pretty sure that Konami will re-release both games eventually, hopefully they will re-release all the Castlevania DS games also eventually.  I used to be big on physical games, but I prefer digital now they are more convenient.

One of my own personal problems with me owning digital games is that I lose track of what I own and the game doesn't feel as important for me to play, whereas if i see a physical game sitting on my table collecting dust I'm feeling the guilt lol

I would love it if they did a Castlevania collection like the new TMNT Cowabunga collection!

Is it Wii U VC? Is it running in normal Wii U mode? Can you play it without Wiimote and the Sensor Bar?

Or is it running in Wi mode like any other Wii game on Wii U?

It does run on Wii mode, yes. But that doesn't change the fact that the game is not exclusive to the Wii. It was re released on the Wii U eShop many years after its original Wii release.

PS1 games on the PS Store run natively on PS3 systems. Don't they count as re releases?

I looked it up on wikipedia before i post, other than PS3, there're a lot of PS1 games re-released on PSP and Vita. Like i wanted to add Silent Hill as one of my favorite exclusive games but unfortunately it got re-released as a PSN version for the handhelds officially.

And oh, bad news for Nintendo DS. The games got re-released on the Wii U eShop as a VC version. Very challenging. lol

That's why I'm being so picky with you guys. The funny thing about this thread is to actually find some good games that remain exclusive to this day ^^

BTW, only a handful of NDS games are on Wii U VC. Most third party ones are not there. I could pick Hotel Dusk/Last Window and FFTA2 ^^

Added Parasite Eve 3rd Birthday for PSP. Forgot about this game but was actually quite fun if you enjoy the series. Would be nice if Square brought this franchise back.

Holy crap i seriously didnt know it was released Gen 7...and didnt know about the MS Dos etc...thanks!

I had the MS-DOS version. It was pretty clunky even with a 286 or 386 CPU, had the gameplay pared down somewhat including having part of level 3 removed, and had very sparse sound even with the best sound cards available - and I had the PC Speaker, which typically sounded like a cat orgy. I still played it quite a bit, because it was kind of hard to scrounge up quarters, or rides to the arcade.

Well, it wasn't really until the PS1 showed up until you had perfect arcade ports and some ports that were actually better than the arcade game.

That's true to a degree, but PCs of the time were also kind of iffy when it came to action games, and the SNES and Genesis came pretty close to arcade-perfect in quite a few cases. The MS-DOS port of The Simpsons definitely didn't come off very well compared to the SNES and Genesis ports of Turtles in Time (Hyperstone Heist for the latter), and I'd also argue that even the NES port of the first game was much more competent than this port.  The NES port was helped by having added content to make up for the loss of graphical fidelity compared to the arcade, but its gameplay was rock-solid. I'd have much rather had Konami make a SNES port of this game, but the licensing conflict with Acclaim prevented that.
