Hmm.

I wonder if Ukraine can just strike the supply lines and starve this convoy out.

Having no knowledge of modern military tactics beyond what I've seen in media I've wondered what the best strategy would be to address that massive convoy. Presumably it would have lots of air and anti-air defenses so sending in aircraft might not be smart. Artillery could do some damage but maybe they'd get spotted early and bombed and I wonder how much Ukraine has in the first place. Infantry could ambush but it's risky and limited in damage output. Maybe stalling and slowing and blocking the way to starve them out would be best. I guess it depends on how far away from Russian lines the convoy is now and how feasible it would be for Ukraine to cut them off from support.

Is it safe to say world war 3 has started, as countries are sending weapons to fight?

I hope this doesn't end with Russia turning into another North Korea, yet 100x more dangerous. Sanctions didn't solve anything in NK and isolation only strengthened the government's hold on the country. Russia can support itself, yet the common people will suffer.

I understand this concern, but I don't think this is very applicable here, because unlike North Korea, Russia aspires to be a great and influential nation on a global scale, and its people are used to being connected with the rest of the world.
Them getting kicked out of absolutely everything is going to change life drastically for them. They didn't sign up for this type of isolation, and the government still pretends to be democratic.

Also, I'm not sure how well they'd be able to sustain themselves when more and more are now refusing to buy oil from them.

What imports does Russia rely on? If they can feed themselves, then it doesn't matter in the long run.

I don't know whether Putin cares about being influential on a global scale, seems he wants the old Russia back. But indeed, the people are still mostly free and capable of resistance. Hopefully the protests keep ongoing, applying pressure from all angles.

North/South Korea formed when Russia and the USA split up Korea at the end of WWII, liberating the peninsula from Japan. That led to the Korean war in 1950 which got us the lovely series M.A.S.H. The North dug in and became what it is today.

Anyway instead of sending more weapons, it would be better to put more focus on helping the refugees. It's getting kinda grim at the Polish border.

Not yet, but Putin does seem to like the idea of another world war, I'm afraid.

Can someone please kill that fascist bastard? That would be great, thanks.

I am from Poland, so I can tell you what it looks like here.

Overall, the scale of the aid is huge. People organize refugees places to sleep in their own homes, buy food and clothes, and support charity organizations with donations. Refugees are provided with social benefits and free train travel. The government has shown itself too and is doing whatever it can to help. Poles do not have the best opinion in the world, but this time everyone could follow our example. Something amazing. I did not expect that this war would trigger so much concern for other people in our nation.

But of course not everything is perfect and there are exceptions to the rule. Especially the south-east of Poland is less tolerant and more conservative, and that is where the most refugees are presently. In addition, various stories are intentionally spread (possibly at the request of the Russians) that are supposed to fuel hatred of foreigners (especially with a darker carnation). However, the fault lies on both sides, because here and here are people who deviate from the norm. Fortunately, such cases belong to a significant minority.

And not. There is enough aid for refugees, at least for now. Meanwhile, Ukraine needs weapons to repel the aggressor. And this is what he expects the most - military support. The West cannot send its troops to fight, but it should provide as much military aid as it can, so that Ukraine can defend itself and that this war can be ended as soon as possible.

No, as fighting is localised in a single area with only 2 combatants.

A world war involves multiple countries the world over fighting across several continents.

It is a war between soldiers of Russia and Ukraine. There is no need to hate everything that is Russian or to hate Russian people.

Banning Russian Vodka will have no impact on their economy and is a silly idea. Banning Russian sports teams, artists, musicians is another stupid move.

Sending troops  and military equipment to fight the war will work better than economic sanctions and political rhetoric.

No it isn't. Ukraine literally can't compete because due to Russian aggression because they aren't in a position to organise teams to compete in events like the world cup. So seeing as Russia are the aggressor here, why should they get to compete when Ukraine literally can't.

No it has to be both. Idea of sanctions is to pressure Russia so there would be no need to fight and die, the war needs to stop immediately.

And sanctions will make it harder for Russia to rebuild and modernize their already surprisingly weak military force. Less change of things escalating further imo.

Yet Europe can't afford to cut off Russian gas supply which would be the only way to hurt their economy the most.
