Don't forget we're only in February, we still don't know what they have in their sleeves

Very true; it's common for Switch games to be revealed just a few months from release and there's very likely at least one big game coming this year that's still a secret. 3 weeks ago we didn't know about Xenoblade 3 or Switch Sports for example, and 24 hours ago we didn't know about Pokémon Scarlet/Violet.

The next 10 months are going to be very interesting to say the least.

At this point 2022 is already so jacked I don't want anything more. Save something for 2023! I'd just like confirmation of BotW2 coming out this holiday, nothing that has been announced gets delayed, and find out what's the deal with old Metroid Primes - I'm assuming Prime 1 remake is coming this year so that's the only unannounced game I want to see be added to this year's schedule.

The year is jam packed and with BotW2 and open world gen 9 Pokemon for the holidays that's like the two biggest holiday games Switch could possibly get. Throw in Prime 1 remake in early Fall and there won't be a need for anything else.

Leave Prime 2 and 3 remakes for next year (unless rumors are wrong and it is in fact the HD Trilogy then I'd gladly take that this year in Prime 1's place) hopefully leading up to a holiday 2023 Prime 4 release, leave the rumored DK game for 2023, leave (the hopefully planned for) Z:WW/TP combo pack for 2023, leave anything else not yet announced but getting close to being done for next year. Mario 2D? 2D Zelda? Pikmin 4? Star Fox? Fzero? Kid Icarus? Mario & Luigi? Zelda Maker? Ring Fit 2? some new IP? - all great possible games for 2023, don't need to add nothing to 2022.

I'm so conflicted if BotW2 and Pokemon gen 9 release so close to each other because I'm also really looking forward to Starfield! I'm also afraid 2 first party Nintendo open world games releasing so close may cannibalize sales! But 2022 may just be Nintendo's best year ever in terms of game releases though!

Nintendo could delay BotW2 to March 2023 to align with the 6 year anniversary of the first game and 2022 may still be Nintendo's best year!

A few games that are at the top of my personal list that not many mention are Advance Wars 1&2 Reboot Camp, LIVE A LIVE Remake, and Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope.

You called down the thunder, now reap the whirlwind

Another contender for Nintendo's best year I feel gets overlooked is 2010.
On Wii alone we got Mario Galaxy 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Monster Hunter Tri, Sin & Punishment Star Successor, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Goldeneye 007, COD Black Ops, No More Heroes 2, Sonic Colours, Sonic All Stars Racing, Red Steel 2...

2022 actually reminds me more of 2010 in that is has quantity as well as quality, whereas 2017 was more about a smaller number of really stellar titles.

Definitely feel like BOTW 2 will be delayed until early 2023 and honestly I am OK with that. Maybe it will launch on BOTW 1's 6 year anniversary, which also happens to be a Friday. Could also see Mario + Rabbids getting delayed. It would be a good idea to save some heavy hitters for next year.

Can't see them releasing a new generation of Pokemon AND BOTW 2 this holiday, especially since I feel we will also get a 3D Mario this holiday because of the movie.

Bold: I don't see that happening.

If they were planning a new 3D Mario game also for this year and they wouldn't want to release it very close to BotW2 and/or Gen 9 they wouldn't even have thought of announcing both of these games for 2022. If BotW2 gets delayed it's solely because of it's own development cycle demanding it, not other games. They're planning this release schedule a long time in advance.

@Kakadu18 To be fair, they originally had both Animal Crossing and SWSH for 2019, before the former got delayed until March of the following year. This was despite ACNH getting announced first. I could see a similar situation happening here.

ACNH was not delayed because of Sw/Sh but to prevent work crunch, so basically because of it's own development having issues. That's what I mean with BotW2's own development cycle demanding it.
