Forums - Gaming - Which game from Activision/Blizzard will you miss if they go full exclusive?

People believe that Call of Duty's exclusivity will have a great impact but I doubt it. Support for CoD is a mile wide and an inch deep. There are so many other shooters that can and will take its place on PlayStation. Exclusivity will hurt many game IPs more than it will hurt PlayStation.

None, I'm a PC gamer. But Microsoft gaining even more power and control on the PC market worries me anyway. Also, if this expansion is in preparation to try again to cut a slice of mobile market, as Phil Spencer words could imply, some PC and console games could end up being dumbed down for that market, and I wouldn't like it at all.

Yep, that is one red herring. Xbox haven't done the profits to buy mohjang, zenimax nor activision. That is basically like rich father buying the way for the sun. But it took them 4 generations to see the son had no talent and needed papa money to succeed.

You both heavily underestimate how much Xbox rake in via Xbox Live and GP subs over the years. MS wouldn't allow so much money to be spent if Xbox wasn't profiting.

The Halo franchise alone has generated over $5b to date.

Sure Xbox made 80B in profits but we never heard of them, sure.

Nintendo and Playstation in their best years probably make 3B USD on profit. But you want us to believe Xbox was making enough profit that they covered those purchases themselves? You jest right?

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

None, I own everything...but IF I were still a PS only gamer like I was for most of gen 7 and half of gen 8...

Nothing...absolutely nothing. Activision does not sell the games I typically buy. They have games I will try on gamepass, but the only Activision game I used to buy is CoD, and I stopped after Advanced Warfare.

Crash and Spyro, unless future games come to Steam (or GOG, which seems unlikely), which seems plausible at this point. Some of the dead franchises also have potential but they're kind of dead, so I don't care.

I never said they made $80b, don't be silly. You mentioned they didn't cover the cost for these companies.

Your exact quote "Xbox haven't done the profits to buy mohjang, zenimax nor activision." And i proved that Halo alone has made over $5b which covers more than the Minecraft acquisition. That's just one IP, not including the profits straight from Live all those years ago. They would of made the money for the Bethesda and Mojang acquisitions just from the Xbox brand, however the Activison Blizzard acquisition will be focused around the GP long term subs etc.

You also forget that MS have been profiting with subscriptions long before Sony and Nintendo implemented it. The entire 360 era, they were making billions off Gold Live. Or do you like to ignore that small detail in your arguments?

Still confused? Sony made $12b off PSN, DLC and Digital games in 2019. Now think about this, Xbox has been doing this online system aswell and their subscription model has been around a lot longer, so do the maths.

Also MS/Xbox don't announce profits from Gold and subs, thats why you never heard of it.

I don't believe it for a second but Phil Spencer announced they plan on keeping Calladoody on PS platforms, so like....awesome I guess? I mean, I have no faith of this being real but still, that's what the narrative is at this time.

My Console Library:

PS4, PS3, PS2, PS1, WiiU, Wii, GCN, N64 SNES, XBO, 360
