It's either 0 € or 11.90 € depending on whether you count the external HDD case I got for my extra SSD to use as extra space for my PS4... only to notice that Sony has placed an arbitrary restriction that prevents using disks smaller than 250 GB with the PS4, despite my 120 GB SSD definitely being able to fit a few games.

Yeah, that arbitrary 250 GB limit is annoying. Quote from my struggle of setting up my PS5 last summer:

"Connecting external mass storage for (a lot of) PS4 games: after several failures (some USB HDDs weren’t detected, others were denied as incompatible), the 2 TB HDD of my PS4 Pro was accepted.

Damn it, Sony! Why do PlayStations have to be so choosy when it comes to extended storage? My PS4 Pro already denied a 240 GB SSD due to an arbitrary minimum of 250 GB. All these USB devices work fine with my Xboxes, they support even several mass storages at the same time."

Had to buy a new controller for my PS4Pro because I was getting bad drift with the old one.
This year I will have to fork out for two PS5s and a new TV.

Yeah... If Sony is telling us a 24% increase over the default of 500 GB is not enough to work with, what does that say about 500 GB? That it's barely enough to work with but not really good at all? Just for the record, I think 500 GB is... decent, but in my view, consistency demands that either 120 GB is enough (if you assume 500 GB to be decent) or that 500 GB is fairly poor (if you assume that 120 GB is really bad).

I bought a new laptop but it's not for gaming so zero.

I bought an NES for my brother for Christmas since I was also giving him The Legend of Zelda and Contra CIB from my NES collection.

I had also gotten myself a Super Retrobit Trio+ last month to play my NES, SNES, & Genesis carts in HD.

Meanwhile, my wife has given me a Vectrex, a Collectorvision Phoenix (plays Colecovision cartridges in HD), and a Nintendo Switch OLED in the past year.  So, my household was definitely over the $1000 on hardware threshold for 2021.

Hori Split Pad Pro for Switch (Pikachu and Eevee) - 30 euros
Megabat 800 Battery for GBA SP - 23 euros (with shipping)
Golden Sun Shell for GBA SP - 10 euros
IPS Screen for GBA SP - 43 euros

Total: 106 euros this year. I was about to buy an Analogue Pocket, but the increased price, the absurd shipping cost and the Q4 2022-2023 release date made me focus my resources on upgrading my GBA SP instead. Once the screen arrives, I'll get to work.
