Not really. If we look back a few weeks, the XBox Series was hovering around 110k/week, the PS was hovering around 210k/week. Now the X sold 330k and the PS5 sold 400k. If we assume production is still hampered by chip shortages, it really is a puzzle why MS was able to increase numbers by a factor of three, Sony only by a factor of 1.9. In absolute numbers, MS increased production by 200k, Sony less, only by 180k. Puzzling to say the least. (I also note the SX/PS5 gap actually decreased quite some amount...) |
It's not a puzzle, Series S has been readily available in most regions and is much easier to produce than the XSX/PS5. As we are approaching holidays sales are increasing for the Series S because there is stock available, Series X and PS5 are being severely limited by stock. Series S has been widely available in the UK for months, and is still in stock now.
As of right now Amazon UK has in stock:
Switch + Just Dance 2022 for £258 (Below RRP with a free game)
Switch OLED - £310
Xbox Series S - £250
PS5/XSX I have still never seen available.
