Well i just checked out the yearly hardware data in the Charts tab and Switch 2020 total says 28,293,919.

Didn't realise you could change the chart to yearly instead of weekly. But this 28.2m figure includes week ending 4th Jan 2020 so it is a 53 week period instead of 52 weeks.
The figures I posted are the same numbers used by VGC for it's year-on-year comparison, 52 weeks for 2020, 52 weeks for 2021.
"2020 – (Week ending January 11 to November 21)
2021 – (Week ending January 9 to November 20)"
