Forums - Sales Discussion - Famitsu sales: Week 34, 2021 - (16th August - 22nd August)

Xbox breaching the 5k ceiling for the first time (excluding console launch). Maybe next it can do like 7k in a normal week this year, without needing a Forza or Halo

Sony stops Nintendo's two week shut-out from becoming three. They used the strategy of "releasing games". Clever move Sony. Clever move.

Definitely rare nowadays seeing a PS5 game in the top 10 (let alone top 5) in Japan but also welcoming.

It had to happen eventually.

Great week for Xbox Series. It needs less than 38k to outsell Xbox One.

I can see it happening this year if it keeps going like that.

It is possible and considering that during the holidays we see bigger sales i say is almost guaranteed.

Nice to see Ghost as the best selling game - Japan really loves it for it's authenticity and it was the first american produced game to win Famitsu's game of the year

Depends on stock, if MS ships enough consoles it should happen.

So far it's been selling all it ships.

Interesting week with the Xbox Series doing more than 5k and a PS5 SKU doing more than its PS4 counterpart.

Better post-Obon hold than I expected for Switch. 6:1 versus PS5 this week.
Ring Fit's legs are just insane.
And it still feels surreal seeing Xbox pull significant numbers in Japan.
