Valve's Steam Deck now comes with AMD FSR upscaling as standard on any game:

You may not need Windows 11 to play Epic games on Steam Deck:

I'm glad Steam Deck is coming and Intel is releasing their own GPUs, the component shortage is not bad enough as is and I would like for it to become worse.

Actual numbers are here: https://steamdb.info/instantsearch/?refinementList%5Boslist%5D%5B0%5D=Steam%20Deck%20Verified&refinementList%5Boslist%5D%5B1%5D=Steam%20Deck%20Playable

Only 160 of 59450 games checked so far... 0.27% of the Steam catalogue.

147 of 20077 games with a 70+ SteamDB-rating so far... 0.73%.
138 of 13592 games with a 75+ SteamDB-rating so far... 1.02%.
121 of 7654 games with a 80+ SteamDB-rating so far... 1.58%.
91 of 3516 games with a 85+ SteamDB-rating so far... 2.59%.

They have to check the catalogue a lot faster to get a helpful list until the end of the month.

Agreed. They are probably not gonna make it at this rate, and release date users will have to do the checking by themselves it seems.

Steam Deck Previews are up:

My key take-aways are this.

If you Tweak the Steam Deck and cap it to 30 fps. The battery will last even on demanding games:

If you run it at full tilt, especially above 60fps, the battery life can indeed drain:

The Steam Deck can run certain demanding games at Max Settings Including with Ray Tracing On but typically it's better if you leave at least the Ray Tracing off:

The Steam Deck is also able to run Control at medium setting which I believe is higher than what ps4/xbox one can do (But I'd have to double check DF reviews):

The Heptics are apparently not very good and the control scheme isn't a one size fits all. Some like it while others don't (In Linus Tech Tips Video).

Compared to other PC handhelds that cost over $1000, it is certainly powerful:

The difference in load times between SSD and MicroSD isn't very different but also very game dependent. Control has the same load times while ghost runner sees a difference:

It takes 1 hour 30 minutes to charge to 80% and then takes a total of 3 hours to 100%

There were some issues with Forza Horizon 5 but that's because the Steam Deck runs Linux out of the box. Valve is working to fix it but running it on Windows shouldn't have any issues.

Overall... Can't wait for mine to get here!

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Did Linus really have to use FXAA+TAA for a game that's already playing at 720p and at medium settings?.

He's usually the kind of guy that likes his images crisp, not doubled with Vaseline.

Either way perf is looking good, though I do wish after Linus and GN test some AAA's, that they also test some indie titles as well to show a great diff in battery life (Since there are plenty of indies out there that don't have heavy tax settings and I'm mostly going to be that guy using one as an indie machine, so I'd like a lil research done for that side).

If you are into that, you should watch the video of the PC-handheld expert The Phawx:

If an older/indie game runs fast enough with 5 - 9 Watts TDP, the RDNA2 efficiency is waaay better than the other PC handhelds (GPD Win3 + Aya Neo Next):
