Forums - Sales Discussion - Global Hardware May 30-June 5 - PS5 Sales Top 9 Million

Switch is under 400k again, but still selling like hotcakes. Japan in particular is a factor because Switch is so dominant there. The weekly gap between Switch and PS5 seems to be narrowing in Europe, but is still large in North America.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 144 million (was 73, then 96, then 113 million, then 125 million)

PS5: 105 million Xbox Series S/X: 60 million

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

PS5 has now outsold the Sega Saturn.

Bet with Liquidlaser: I say PS5 and Xbox Series will sell more than 56 million combined by the end of 2023.

@Intrinsic Seems likely! Wonder if they can squeak by this month, assuming stock is there.

Would be nice if Ratchet & Clank could give a hardware boost, provided the stock is there lol

Hardware looks like the only thing capable of giving this consoles a hardware boost at this point.

Good to see all selling well.

I'm still wondering just where the PS5 would be if they could produce enough. However, would they still have the momentum/hype they have if the system was readily available.

Had similar thoughts myself about both consoles. Is the lack of availability adding to it's success? I've read multiple times on this very forum about Nintendo and artificial demand to increase the allure...

Obviusly covid isn't artifical but the point is worth discussion.

VGChartz has it at 8.82 million, wikipedia has it at 9.26 million.

Machina and myself did do some research on getting updated sales figures for our legacy hardware figures. At the moment we don't have the ability to update the numbers manually on the platforms total page.
