 SE wont continue making that many jRPGs for 360 if they barely sell in Japan, if FF XIII does significantly boost the PS3s sales (it has to or the PS3 is doomed in Japan) then I can see them making more PS3 exclusive jRPGs

You all have to take into consideration the main releases of the year come into the second half of the year. 70% of console sales are made in second half of the year. The first half of the year is generally slow.

If your an RPG fan why do you prefer the PS3's library and line-up over the 360's?

Maybe if I only liked RPG's I would do but I'm a fan of many Genre's and the PS3's current libary and the type of games released on the playstation platofrm apeal to me more.

 I have a feeling the PS3 will get much stronger JRPG support in '09 than previous years , I'm sure Sony recognises the importance of thr Japaneese market and the need to fulfil it's needs.

This is not like last generation.  The Xbox 360 has to big a Western userbase (and a growing JRPG fanbase) to ignore ports (unless exclusivity is paid for).  Even if FFXIII moved MASSES of consoles in Japan, any new exclusive JRPG's would be at least 2 years development time away (and FFXIII itself could be a year away).  That won't help the PS3 get a lead over the Xbox 360 before the next generation starts.

i belive early next year ps3 will be ahead in overall sales.

its interesting in EU that a £159 console is not selling more

than a £299 console. just think if the ps3 was at a £159 price point!

I agree , infact I don't think any developer will want to support Microsoft in it's efforts to capture the japanese market after '08 without some serious moneyhatting.

 MS has failed to get the interest of the japanese in the 2 years it's been there , I think they've passed the point of actualy having any potential to sell.

I agree, though I think that if it does move huge, huge amounts of PS3s, then some might drop the 360 version that they are working on if they are half way through, it is unlikely, but the fact is that the Japanese do not like the 360, which is less of an incentive to make jRPGs, though as you say that genre is becoming more popular around the world. However, it is expected that by the end of next year, the PS3 will probably have overtaken 360, even though the US lead will still be intact, which will dent the likelihood of jRPGs for the 360 (though Europe is less of a jRPG market than the US)
