FTFY regarding W18/19
Xbox Series manages to outsell the discontinued 3DS this week, and interestingly sales of the Series S are almost three times higher than Series X.
I wonder if this is indicative of Series X being in short supply, or the Japanese penchant for smaller devices.

We know the most shorten in supplies thus far has been the Series X so it would come to mind that some people would give up for further stocks and take the more available SKU. |
Hard to believe its sold out when it sold just 140 units in the entire country for the week.
3rd Party Top 50 Switch & PlayStation 4
PS4 - 35
NSW - 15
TOTAL: 27.007.922
PS4 TOTAL: 16.435.268
NSW TOTAL: 10.572.654
This is the only Top 50 where the PS4 still has a lead over the Switch, as Third Party support has taken a long time to arrive on the Switch, but with Monster Hunter Rise & Momotaro launching, titles that have already made the list slowly selling more and more copies over time, while we have a very strong streak of games that should displace everything between 41-50 position in the next five months. Sakuna, Fitness Boxing 2 & Human Fall Flat are on their way to surpass 200K, While Rune Factory 5, Baseball Spirits, Yo-Gi-Oh, Shin-Kun, SMT V, Monster Hunter Stories 2 will join them.
TOTAL SQUARE ENIX: 7.263.548
PS4 SQUARE ENIX: 6.319.218
NSW SQUARE ENIX: 944.330
Square hasn't really invested in a major way on the Switch, so they are going to experience a sharp decline in their fortunes as they lose market share to Capcom & Konami in Japan.
TOTAL CAPCOM: 6.460.796
PS4 CAPCOM: 4.197.072
NSW CAPCOM: 2.263.724
Capcom has not come around and should catch up to the PS4 total by the end of the year, as Resident Evil: Village probably won't surpass 200K on the PS4. Rise, Stories 2 and Ace Attorney with a potential Resident Evil game next year is a big pivot for them.
TOTAL KONAMI: 3.896.517
PS4 KONAMI: 963.631
NSW KONAMI: 2.932.886
Konami were exiting the gaming business but with their other ventures impacted negatively during COVID, it seems they are investing even more resources in the Switch in 2021, potentially Winning Eleven, Baseball Spirits, Momotaro & Yu-Gi-Oh can propel them beyond 6 million software in the chart.
TOTAL BANDAI NAMCO: 1.605.840
PS4 BANDAI NAMCO: 440.914
NSW BANDAI NAMCO: 1.164.926
Bandai have regressed after finding great hits with Fishing Spirits and Taiko their market share is shrinking due to the exclusivity they've decided to impose for a lot of their games. Marvelous or Koei are definitely in a better position than them this year.
Anyone recall why Switch got a big boost week 32 last year? Or was it just more supply.
If it was only the top 30 the numbers would look totally different

Easily supply, came off of 2 weeks of sub 30k, then if you notice GW had 115k and dropped to 45k following week
At this rate, Monster Hunter Rise should outsell World on PS4 by July.

Pretty much sold out, scalper prices are still super high in Japan as well.
Plus there's something wrong with famitsu tracking, 3 weeks ago Amazon jp got a big shipment of series S's making it first on the ranking for a while.. and that week shown 30 units sold, highly doubt 30 units is all it takes to beat MonHun and so on.
