Just finished "1923" finale last night. It's still well made and acted, but it felt rushed and contrived compared to the buildup (16-episode storylines are resolved in a matter of minutes). I still really enjoyed the show, but I can't fathom how the finale has a 9.4 average on IMDB.

Waiting for "Yellowjackets" season 3 finale. Started "Poker Face" last night, only watched one episode but it's promising.

Considering "Gangs of London" or "Piedone" next; from what I can tell these two shows are more or less opposites of one another.

Agreed the build up was great and then it all ended in minutes.

I would have soon rather the build up last 14 episodes as at times it felt like it had extra steps that were not needed. This would have allowed 2 episodes to resolve the end game.

Bluey, because it's a beacon of hope in these cruel times.

Just watched "Jury Duty" on Amazon Prime today, great fun! Also watched "The Last of Us" s02e05 - it's not bad by any means, but continues to trail a ways behind season 1.

Andor S2: Every bit as good as S1, if comparatively light on epic speeches. Still amazed this came out of modern Disney and Star Wars, but grateful.

Season finale of 9-1-1. It's not for the faint of heart. :(

Just watched The Residence on netflix and it was pretty decent.

It's that time of year again:

The joke swaps never miss.

I just saw Final Destination: Bloodlines in IMAX. Rare Friday off from work, so I decided to treat myself to a IMAX showing of my first ever Final Destination in the theater. Glad I did because the movie was great. It gave us the best opening to any Final Destination ever (seriously, that scene on board the Seattle space needle was epic) and from there, it gives us likable characters with an interesting family dynamic and a unique take on the Death games that we’ve never seen before. For the first time, I actually felt like I wasn’t watching the same movie for the fifth time (or I guess sixth now). Sure there’s the usual “family/friends talking about how to cheat Death” stuff, but it’s done in a way that feels fresh. I commend it for that (and that awesome opening).

Speaking of the family, you’re really torn on whether you want to see Steph’s family get smushed (but let’s be real, I think you do as much as the movie might try to convince you otherwise). Oh, yeah, and it really hits it out of the park there as well with some gnarly deaths. The gore and deaths in this movie are brutal, this might seriously be the most violent of all the Final Destinations. Even I was squirming in my seat, saying “oh shit” at some of the deaths. FD4 (“The” Final Destination, which of course it wasn’t) ain’t got shit on this movie, in any department really.

It was also nice seeing Tony Todd getting a great final sendoff (R.I.P.) and I’m not remiss in saying you’ll really love the new earlier connection they gave him to the series mythos.

Needless to say, I wasted no time pre-ordering the 4K after I got out of the theater.

Just watched "House of the Dragon" season 2, been holding off on it since I heard it dropped off a bit in quality. The music and cinematography are still ace, but the writing has taken a massive hit. Weird choices, uncharacteristic behaviors to serve the plot, slug pacing, it's really all over the place. Which is a shame, it's easily the best acting in any fantasy show right now.

I'd like the Final Destination movies better if they had Death more often taking out people who actually deserved to die. Like if more victims in the franchise were like the racist tow truck driver who met his end while attempting a cross burning on someone's lawn.
