Glad I did because the movie was great. It gave us the best opening to any Final Destination ever (seriously, that scene on board the Seattle space needle was epic) and from there, it gives us likable characters with an interesting family dynamic and a unique take on the Death games that we’ve never seen before. For the first time, I actually felt like I wasn’t watching the same movie for the fifth time (or I guess sixth now). Sure there’s the usual “family/friends talking about how to cheat Death” stuff, but it’s done in a way that feels fresh. I commend it for that (and that awesome opening). |
I'd like the Final Destination movies better if they had Death more often taking out people who actually deserved to die. Like if more victims in the franchise were like the racist tow truck driver who met his end while attempting a cross burning on someone's lawn.
