$59 for the PS4(5)/XBS and $39 for the Switch version? What happened there?

Yeah same, I don't understand the pricing. In a good way obviously, but 20$ less is quite unusual, especially for a Switch game.

next gen taxes?

I bought Crash 4 on sale during Christmas for 35 Euro (well I used MS rewards points, so I technically didn't spend anything).
It's not like you have to spend $60, even if you insist on the digital version.

The developer also said it will run at 1080p docked and 720p portable at 30FPS on the Switch. Apparently rather than lowering the resolution and applying an agressive AA and ending up with a rather blurry game like pretty much every other 8th gen port to the Switch, they are reworking the game's visuals to give it a more cell-shaded style that demands less from the hardware.

That's not cel shading, just simpler materials/lighting, and brighter colours.

Still, it is good to see them tailor the port to the hardware, and I will be very impressed if they do manage to hit 1080p docked and 720p portable given the Xbox One version is 900p/30fps.

Crash 4 will be 9.3GB on Switch.

For comparison's sake, it's about 45GB on PS4

Devs are really making magic for Switch ports, nice effort

I think I will buy Switch version because of portability + pricing

A little too late, but I never said it was. I meant that the changes gave it a more cel shading look, but not that it was actual cel shading.

Regarding the file size... holy shit. 80% decrease compared to last gen machines xD

Call me crazy but I'd say the Switch screenshots actually look better than the PS4 ones in that link.
