Going off topic slightly I guess, but since you're probably among the only other people here who played Call of the Sea, might I ask which ending you chose, just out of curiosity? |
Spoiler! I went with going back to Harry, which eventually leads to the same road anyways. It's kinda weird because I like how well they built up the emotional importance of the binary choice but dislike how the second-half of the ending cutscene is recycled. What about you? |
Spoiler!
Yeah, I did the same thing the first time. I mean I always go the analogous route. Did so in Beyond: Two Souls, made the analogous "wrong" choice first in Life is Strange just to spite the developers, etc. That the game's main characters make just such a choice is likewise a big part of why I like the endings of Gone Home and The Last of Us (referring to the original) so much. Guess I'm just more of a humanist than a utilitarian. Like you, I'm always a bit disappointed when ostensibly big choices like this don't seem to have much consequence in the end. But I will say that the presentation thereof actually made me think a little at least, unlike in so many other games.
