Just from curiosity. What did you think about the Wii U launch lineup?

I don't remember it to be fair. Switch I thought was weak because I just remember BotW (which was a last gen delayed game made crossgen) but then with Mario releasing short after it had enough great content for a release.

Oh,  the Switch was abysmal in terms of quantity when it launched. Even I can't deny that with a straight face xD

Nah, I said it because I do remember the Wii U launch lineup... And it looks incredibly similar to what we are getting here with PS5. But people in 2012 were really disappointed with the Wii U launch games... But here we see an overwhelming positive reaction to PS5's launch games. It's... curious, to say the least...

If you can say the games that launched with WiiU I can try and say what I think of it. But my memory of WiiU the complains weren't about the launch, but that it got big draughts after (and Nintendo said it was due to they not being used to HD development), to the point a lot of Nintendo big fans skipping the console (although my friend loves his and is his favorite console all time).

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Right now it seems like the PS5's biggest selling points are its graphical prowess and QoL improvements over its predecessor.

There's nothing on the system's launch horizon that really catches my eye at the moment. I'll probably take the plunge in a year or two when it has a much meatier software library.

Not unusual to think the first year library is light to one's taste.

Of course.  I wasn't implying that this issue is unique to the PS5.  I'm sure it'll do well right out the gate.

The Wii U launched with New Super Mario Bros. U, Nintendo Land and ZombiU as their main exclusive games. Other than that, it was filled with multiplatform titles like Batman Arkham City, Darksiders II, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Call of Duty Black Ops II and Assassin's Creed III. Some of these multiplatforms had exclusive features and gameplay improvements... and some came out months or even a year after their PS3/360/PC counterparts. And as I said, people regarded Wii U's launch lineup as disappointing.

I see many similarities in they kind of exclusive games both consoles got and the kind of multiplatform games third parties put on them. I don't know, maybe I'm being paranoid xD

To me this seems a very regular launch lineup, the games may or may not be of someone taste, but nothing that could be called weak. At most one could say there isn't much they can't get in a different console.

What little I recall it was Zombi U. Ninja Gaiden 3,Mass Effect 3, Batman Arkum City, Nintendo Land,Tank Tank Tank, Funky Barn and maybe some more. Not exactly a good lineup.

I won't lie I actually loved NG3 RE but still moslty 360 ports and some shovelware. It's pretty pathetic.

Nothing has ever matched let alone topped the Dreamcast launch.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

Looks nice, I wonder when it will be available in store (not just theoretically)

Did any reviews show/test what it looks like if you just lay it on its side, no stand?

Which Dreamcast launch game ended over 90+ metacritic and 5M seller?

Well the teardown from sony engineer showed the system on its side didn't it? I think IGN review had it sideways inside a cabinet.
