Still the most anemic launch lineups. I await when we have PS1 themed plates and 3rd party SEGA ones. I will also buy a PS1 themed controller like I did PS4 when they do it. That white is so hideous.

Demons Souls, Astro Playroom, Sackboy Adventure and Miles Morales is anmenic? Ok.

Astro's Playroom - getting great reviews and its packed in the console
Spiderman Miles Morales - Shorter game but getting great reviews
Demons Souls doesn't need any introductions. Will be great
Sackboy looks like a decent platformer. Will find out better when reviews are out

There are other third party games as well if you're into them like AC and WD.

Have you seen Series X/S launch lineup? Jokes aside. Its no Switch, but then there was a massive drought of games after launch. The games are coming. This is mostly about Youtubers reviewing the hardware itself.

Switch had one game, BotW, and that was because Nintendo delayed it. Sony could have done it with TLOU2 and GoT, but I'm much happier they didn't.

It sounds like there's no quick resume feature like there is on the Series X. And the battery life is apparently 4-8 hours on the controller which is quite low! The controller features sound hype though and it's quiet which is awesome!

Depends on usage (and games).
Supposedly it can last like 14hours+ (in games without all the haptic feedback + adaptive triggers, sound from the speaker and whatnot)
While it might only last like 6hours in a game like Astrobots playground.

Interestingly max power draw so far for the PS5 is 203W for Spiderman Miles Morales. Less so for other games and BC titles. Taken from Eurogamer/DF

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/playstation-5-review-digitalfoundry

That is significantly less than the peak of Series X with Gears 5 right? Something like 10% or more. But I thought in gaming the power draw would almost always be constant.

Both have been tested useing Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Xbox series X uses 151w (peak) when running it.
PS5 uses 107w (peak) when running it.

Also the PS5 is 2 dB less noisy than the XSX when gameing.
And gets less hot.

Which again makes sense, when you think about how much larger the PS5 is (and useing less power = less heat).
Makeing it easier to cool.

I believe the difference in power is because of the version Series and PS5 are running.

Most likely, I dont doubt the XSX is running higher res/better graphics settings or something.
Still thats a huge differnce in power draw.

You bolded it but didn't read it. I used the word Lineups as in plural as in both consoles...FFS. None of what you listed is interesting to me and Astro's playroom is a built-in digital game. Don't care unless you count the ones that came with 3DS and Master System. Don't care.

So a built-in game used as a tech demo. No thanks.

A game I can get on PS4 anyway and cheaper. So not worth $570.

A remake of a series I don't like.

If I generally don't play platformers on even Nintendo systems, not going to star on PS5.

Just from curiosity. What did you think about the Wii U launch lineup?

I don't remember it to be fair. Switch I thought was weak because I just remember BotW (which was a last gen delayed game made crossgen) but then with Mario releasing short after it had enough great content for a release.

@Leynos You went ahead and called the lineup anemic, which I don't agree with. Of course thats subjective. I don't think it is, this is actually one of the stronger launch PlayStation lineup in years. Not sure what you are comparing to, so comes across as being negative for the sake of being that /shrug Plus this is for hardware reviews, not for games.
