Forums - Sales Discussion - Capcom expects Monster Hunter Rise to sell over 1 million units in Japan

Tagged games:

The week that Rise comes out, virtually whatever Switch stock Nintendo can get on shelves should be decimated.

They're already having trouble meeting demand, and while they do have 5 months to work on that, if they're supply constrained now, I think a brand new MH game's system selling potential, like Switch's overall sales at present, will be limited only by supply.

Bet with Liquidlaser: I say PS5 and Xbox Series will sell more than 56 million combined by the end of 2023.

Lowballing pretty hard, but that is what every company likes to do nowadays to report "we beat expectations!" afterwards.

Yea I was going to say, underpredicting to get massive sales over their prediction is way better than vice versa. That's probably partially what's going on here.

Agree, and at the same time they could also be mildly mocking some competitors that stubbornly keep on not believing in the Switch.

Not interested... the graphics looks so much of a downgrade from World... Might eventually play it once I have cleared my backlog.

Well, I mean, can we really expect a game for a mobile device that has to fit in your hands and run off a battery to be graphically competitive with an entry on a contemporaneous dedicated console ten times the size that's plugged into the mains?

Nope not making a comparsion here. I'm just saying having experienced World's graphics, seeing Rise's graphics is a big turn off for me. It could still surprise with very good reviews and I'll probably jump right in.
