Forums - Sales Discussion - Sony's Q2 FY results: 113,6m PS4s Sold, 45,9m+ PS Plus subcriptions as of September 30th, 2020. 107m+ Active monthly users.

Hardware sales are slowing down, but damn the software sales are massive and PS plus member are also on the rise.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Around the Network

The PS network growth over this generation has been phenomenal.

7.9m subs 2014
46m subs 2020

I'm curious how much charging for online access to game like Warzone, Apex Legends and Fortnite would have boosted their membership? Or if the decision to allow free play swayed more users to buy their console, or simply increased the amount of DLC bought? Obviously a huge amount of revenue to miss out on. I wonder what the rational is.

Sony making bank from all their divisions. Is their profit for Q2 around 4 Billion or am I remembering wrong?

Looks like the PS4 will settle at 120 - 125 Million lifetime. Sony could have been more aggressive with price cuts but it is what it is.

no ps5 forecast?

Sony expect to outsell PS4 on same timeframe so over 7.4M until march. Also more pre-orders in 12h than PS4 on 12 weeks.
