Forums - Sony Discussion - PS5 Showcase - Wednesday Sept 16

I hope they'll only show off titles that release in the launch window and not CGI for something years away from release (like FF16 probably is).

They could have both. As long as there is a good number of good titles they can mix launch window and later releases.

They only have 40 minutes and said they have a great launch line-up. There will be time spent on price/date and maybe some UI stuff, but the rest I want to see spent on in game presentations of those launch games and not on some far out projects, even if they are high profile. And I hope everyone learned from the super short Fable annoucement, that this is not the way to go about it.

Does anyone realistically think 399 is an option for the disc version? I saw in another thread it was a 'bold' prediction, but I think IT'd be interesting to see Sony repeat what happened last gen. 399 and 349?

Do I think this will happen? no. No I do not. However, man it'd make me so happy. I'd be willing to bet 499 and 399 for the disc and non-disc drive versions. I think that's pretty fair.

Since the Series S will be $299, I'm starting to think it might be possible to go as low as $399 for the discless version - something I previously dismissed out of hand. There would be measurable losses involved, though, as it is the case for the Series S.

One thing is for sure that what ever Sony announce on Wednesday, Major Nelson and Aaron Greenberg will be in pure defense mode with their tweets afterwards like always.

The presentations for PS5 so far have been to my liking, so I`m very confident on this show as well.

If they show any of the following; God of War II, GTA VI, Silent Hill or Final Fantasy XVI I will bust a nut.

Also sticking to my initial predictions for prices - $499 / £449 PS5 , $399 / £349 PS5 DE

Someone’s gotta tell the public what games are multiplat and timed. It certainly won’t be Sony lol.

Thinking of Xbox showcases where they say off the bat “World Premiere” = multiplat or games that are timed. Very clear messaging. Sony just shows trailers without context of availability, and making people guess or assume they are exclusive when they are not is a little shady.

In this regard what Phil says after their conferences is a blessing. He is simply clearing up FUD but yes it also serves to take away some of the spotlight which I understand your frustration.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
