Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Bloomberg: Nintendo boosts Switch productions to as high as 30 million units for this fiscal year

Was about to post this too.

And I'm still not convinced that this will solve all supply problems before he end of the fiscal year...

You need to satisfy demand and then add to the store shelves for future purchases. If it doesn’t end the demand and 2021 is a beast year with software and a new hardware sku...... 2021 is gonna be crazy lol

That's a lot of Switches

30 million might be the right amount, but I still think this approach is too conservative. What if they manufactured 35 million? Worst case scenario is they have several million Switches sitting in a warehouse for a while. It will all sell eventually. It would be better for them to be prepared to sell a record setting amount.

Ninty can honestly break all records if they make enough switches

Oh that is good to hear. I guess they are actually taking their inability to meet demand seriously. They need to probably have like 12 million systems available for the holiday quarter so hopefully this increase in production will get them there, in which case we could see 28 million this calendar year, and so I could definitely see a sales number close to 30 million for the fiscal year.

And this says good things about next year. Production will be in place for huge numbers next year as we see 3D World port hit early in the year, possibly a Zelda Collection, new premium Switch model, possibly price drops to coincide with new model, BotW2, continued increase in 3rd party support, maybe a remade Pokemon game, maybe Prime 4, and probably another major game drop on top of all this, plus a few smaller first party games.

As the new systems launch, Switch is looking stronger than ever and Nintendo's mass production increase will make sure everyone can get their hands on the hottest console system ever.

Still waiting for that cliff :)

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

The Switch is currently climbing up it.

I'm just hoping switch somehow beats the DS's best year just for the clout

But, but... artificial demand...
