2nd? I say its the worse. Link to the Past is the defacto starting point in the Zelda series. No one should even bother with anything before it.

But

I always said I would give it another chance if it was ported with a non motion based control scheme. I'll stand by that.

Nah NES Zelda games are great. Zelda II is very good just different and in some ways reminds me of Ys III.  SS IMO maybe the 3rd worst mainline Zelda game. DS Zelda games are massive piles of shit. SS is just bland as fuck.

My apologies ya'll, I totally forgot about the DS games. I don't know how because I blame them for lowered interest in the series in general. SS is the worst mainline Zelda game.

NES Zelda's are not really about being bad or good, just that they don't represent franchise. Link to the Past was the blueprint for ever Zelda game for about 20 years. Its like Street Fighter; what is the point of recommending Street Fighter original to anyone outside of historical value?

As someone who never played the game or owned a Wii long enough to play it. I'm on board with this.

Even though it is one of the worst games ever made?

That's a big overreaction if I've ever seen one. A 'bad' Nintendo game will still be great, by any standard. Nevermind a Zelda :P

it's the worst zelda console game. and 3rd or 2nd zelda overall(CD-I Zelda don't count). The Wii bow game is better.

Zero overworld

Puzzle Time

Lame school theme.

Not going to get hyped over this rumor, we’ll see.

I was going to say worst game to get a 10 from IGN but than I remembered I disliked Metal Gear Solid V worse.

I would question the last sentence of your post unless there's some actual data to back it up. It sold less than TP, but that had motion controls to (to a lesser extent) and didn't require motion plus, and had the benefit of being available at launch.

I'm honestly not sure how this game could be done with motion controls. A lot of enemies, and especially the boss fights are really centered around them. Unless they majorly reworked the combat, they'd need at least a way for you to angle your slashes, which seems like it wouldn't work well.

I can't comment on how TP played on the Wii since my playthroughs of it have only been on the GCN and WiiU but just from people I know or general comments I see there seems to be more who don't like the motion controls of Skyward Sword or just motion controls in general than I see who like them but that's anecdotal so maybe I am wrong. There is also the Switch Lite as mentioned by Leynos above that if they were to take the motion control scheme of the original it would cut out owners of that hardware.

As you said, that's anecdotal evidence. As for the Switch Lite, you'd still be able to run it, although admittedly it'd be a bit awkward. But there are already other games, Ring Fit and 1-2 Switch for instance that have the same issue. Shrinks the user base, but otherwise they couldn't release any motion controlled games at all.

Lol, so much hatred towards Skyward Sword xD

I think it's one of the best Zelda games ever made. I actually enjoyed motion controls and I didn't see the linearity of the game as something bad at all... Which are usually the main concearns people usually have with SS.

I think of SS and I have in mind the Zelda with the best story and soundtrack, some masterfully designed dungeons, super clever mechanics like the time stones, cool sidequests, being able to upgrade your items... And yes, actually enjoyable motion controls. The only flaws I can think of are that annoying message you get every time you get a collectible and the feeling that they stretched the final act of the game a bit too much (those fucking underwater musical notes...).

Honestly, if they get rid off the items message, manage to keep motion controls while offering another option for portable play and upgrade the resolution to something that make the art justice (seriously, SS on HD is GORGEOUS) and I'm all in!

How could you!?? LINEARITY IS THE BANE OF VIDEO GAMES

Are you going for some sort of sarcasm record or what?

Anyway, the game was ok. Dont need to play it again.

Are people seriously whining? We've had the idea SS would eventually come to Switch for a whlle.
