With the gen coming to an end this year and most noteworthy titles for at least Sony and Microsoft already being released or close to let's compare the reception and sales of the three platforms.

Reception will be from metacritic and GOTY from gotypicks.blogspot.com. Sales will be taken from VGC (so possibly twice as much was sold with digital).

Here for easyness of comparison I'll be calling 1st party all the true exclusives either made in house or contracted (so Until Dawn, Sunset Overdrive and Mario Rabbids count).

I didn't include remakes and crossgens. I could have added for example The Last of Us Remastered and Shadow of Colossus for PS and Zelda BoTW to Switch.

Yeah... fire emblem three houses and xenoblade 2 were not remakes or cross gen...

I meant: Wii U is gen 8. Switch is gen 8. You should combine both, if you are considering the 8th gen.

A game on both is not cross gen game, is a gen 8 game.
