Just remember PS4 to Pro and the first didn`t had PSVR at the time, so the Pro had additional USB on the back. So with PS5 I bet it will be easier to hook the new camera and PSVR than even PS4Pro. And PSVR2 possibly won`t even have breakout box.

Yep, that USB port on the back got a lot of use. I wonder what ports the ps5 will have on the back. PSVR2 should either be wireless or somehow connect through usb-c or one of the other ports on the front as I don't see it being very practical to connect the headset on the back. Hopefully psvr2 won't use a camera but since ps5 is fully psvr 1 compatible it should have a camera port on the back.

Worst case scenario, another break out box with the wireless transmitter for psvr2. I doubt standard wifi will be enough, but perhaps 5ghz directly from the console in close range is good enough. 802.11ac is 210 mbps to 1 Gbps, however 8 bit 4K 120fps is 22.2 Gbps. Compression required.

I don't really care what it looks like, as long as it fits and has all the connections I want. I'll get used to the ugly look, but missing ports are a joy all generation long. I wonder if it will have a grounded plug (ps4 pro) or not (ps4 base). I have double power cord leads everywhere now since the consoles get swapped around all the time. The ps4 pro with breakout box on top and cords curled up everywhere isn't much of a looker either lol.

People may compare PS5 to a router, but still better than a water fountain.

People are having fun. Dont take it too seriously.

Ugh

It's even bigger than the George Foreman grill

In this POV. The PS4 looks sleeker and simple.

I kinda like it but I'm concerned with the rumors of overheating because I can see that with it. Also, I wish Sony would just move the left stick to the D pad area. Xbox set the bar that way, Sony should just copy it and improve upon it.

Seems like 112M prefer the Sony thumbstick way over the 48M Xbox thumbstick.  So who should be setting the bar?

There's always those people that gotta poke at Sony's thumbsticks but just because you think that's the wrong way just know that there are way more Dualshock controllers sold than than any other controller.  So Sony has to be doing something right with their thumbsticks.

Maybe Xbox should copy Sony in every way and improve on that lol jk Xbox is doing just fine........

Didnt Sony copy xbox with the new controller? There is more space around the buttons.

I would bet on grounded because of the power supply (XSX have a 300W), Europe legislation demand any electronics I think above 200W to be grounded.

On the connector yes I bet we will have the entry for PSVR1 and perhaps PSVR2 uses the same or in worst case it is an entry for PSVR2 and you can buy an adapter. But as you said since USB-C can pass video signal (see Switch) possibly you can just use a single cable without breakout box straight to PSVR2.

Not taking seriously, because I liked the XSX look and even the PS5 devkit.

I really though PS5 looks good (but I can see where the router looking comes from), but for my taste the router looks better than the fountain=p even if it will get all dirty.

The leaked pics show the XBSX prototype has the 250w, 2 prong plug though. Not sure how they would get away with that in production at 300w, unless this is BS. Not sure why else they would use that connector just for the prototype. If it can ship like this, then odds are good PS5 can as well.

*Unless this is actually Lockhart perhaps?

It's all just fun and games, until someone takes the XBSX as a table support for PS5 joke, and changes it to using the PS5 as a router for the XBSX.

PS1   - ! - We must build a console that can alert our enemies.

PS2  - @- We must build a console that offers online living room gaming.

PS3   - #- We must build a console that’s powerful, social, costs and does everything.

PS4   - $- We must build a console that’s affordable, charges for services, and pumps out exclusives.

PRO  -%-We must build a console that's VR ready, checkerboard upscales, and sells but a fraction of the money printer.

PS5   - ^ -We must build a console that’s a generational cross product, with RT lighting, and price hiking.

PRO  -&- We must build a console that Super Res upscales and continues the cost increases.

Reading through comments in here, it feels like I'm the only one who really likes how it looks. My first impression was "sexy". It has some nice curves and proportions, but I can get why the design can be divisive. But I like that it's different and futuristic.

What really concerns me is the cooling method used for this.

I love the memes about its design, this being my favorite

Yes, I love it. I would still prefer it black tho.

Also, this one will definitely stand vertical for me, it looks much better.

This might be the console that makes me go all digital too. Will just buy an external SSD to store the games I'm not currently playing (never more than 3 at a time anyways) .

Perhaps the wings are wifi antennas, gonna have blazing fast super range wifi :)

Actually I'm digging the XSX design more now lol. One thing is certain, both will never fit together, aesthetically nor space requirements. Perhaps someone can make a little home business by mounting both console insides in a pc tower and be done with it.

Micro electronics... Next gen will be the battle of the mega consoles!
