50 Millions max, I'm glad I was wrong now I think the Nintendo Switch will end up at 130M units and dethrone the PS4 / PS5

Around the Network

I remember posting a prediction of 80m lifetime sales back in January 2017.

I think it was so low mostly because that January reveal event was the lowest point for the Switch's Brand image.

And Around June 2017 I revised my prediction to just under 120m if I remember correctly.

I haven't really changed it since, I think it is hard to predict how things will go once its near 120m. Optimistically, It will have a ton of games to come out after that point, get nice price drops, and will go on to outsell PS2.

But, Nintendo could also call it a good point to shift development to their next console and let Third Parties support the tail, which might not go as well.

But yea, it is likely to go beyond 130m at this point with the current momentum of things, Just too many unknown variables to really pin down the end point just yet IMO.

Edit:Turns out I actually made a post E3 2017 prediction thread and said 110m rather than just under 120m https://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=229499

Many opinions had changed a good bit by that point already, will be curious how things look when we get to January 2022 and see shipments through Dec. 31 2021 (more than a year from now).
