Keep in mind, the US is a really big place. I would wager most of the people posting from the US haven't seen any rioting/protesting in person.

I live in downtown Indianapolis, we had 2 deaths from riots and multiple shootings, looting (our downtown mall is destroyed). So yeah I've seen it. My first time doing so as well.

Looting and murder. What a way to protest the killing of a man....

I didn't say nobody's seen it.

There was a guy here in New York that was protesting and looters still destroyed his store.

Maybe I'm overreacting but this is how I see it:

We have a group of people that want to feel victimized. Or maybe things really are that hard and they're just that hopeless. In any event, it is easy for them to blame somebody. And they don't understand the consequences of their actions. They don't want to take accountability for their actions. They just want to take action.

So here we are. Going fucking insane.

So when does the Second American Civil War start?

Who is "they"?

I live in Las Vegas and haven't seen any riots. Protests yes, but no riots.

Anyways the people looting and committing arson are ridiculous and only hurting the cause. I can see the protests being justified, but riots are almost never the answer especially here.

When you start getting obvious sides based on geography. Which is to say not any time soon.

Sounds like the perfect description of Trump.

There are protests in Toronto and Halifax as well (peaceful so far) for a different yet similar incident (death of Regis Korchinski-Paquet)

I wonder whether they see the irony
The peaceful rally, organized by a group dubbed Not Another Black Life
Black lives are as much at stake if not more in this pandemic, Toronto is still a hot zone and face masks (help but) don't stop infections.

We're stuck with covid19 indefinitely the way things are going. Oceania beat the pandemic and better build a wall around their islands now ;)
