Forums - Gaming Discussion - Future FF7 Remake parts could be smaller than FF7R Part 1 to ensure a faster release schedule

Save time on development? But they have everything done, battle system, sound track, character models. Just got to create, settings, get voice actors back in to record new dialogue and then the actual rest of FF7, as in the main plot, not Midgar which was basically just setting the scene in the original and wasn't important. 'Large parts of the story' original game was 1 game released in 1997 and was still well paced and near perfectly done, how much filler is he intending on adding? Will this become as convoluted as Kingdom Hearts?

Hmm, pie.

Oof, something tells me we ain't seeing an actual new FF for a LONG TIME if this is going to go like that ...

Don't know why, haven't FF15 release after the reveal of the remake?

Because that is what the developer pointed to.

And I just pointed that if they make smaller portions of the game then it will be harder to make each part a full game, so what are you trying to point to?

So what you told me originally are not true? At first, people think FFVIIR will be 3 parts, but now, it will be 6 parts or more?

Even then, you claimed each part is a $60 game will a lot contents, now they expand it into even more parts = more full $60 games, so why worry? A lot more full contents $60 games to play (6,7,8, or even 10 games), you should be happy about this, right?

They never revealed how many parts they would make, it was even especifically posted in several threads, many of us expect 3 parts so I have no idea of it would be a lie.

The developer claimed each game would be full game.

And here I said that it would be harder to make full games if they sliced the content in smaller part and wanted to ship faster than they did with the first part. If the game isn't a full game then it wouldn't be worth a full game price.

I really have no idea what type of stunt you are trying to pull here. You just want to accuse me of liar and do personal attacks as you usually do in every thread you talk to me?

There is much more to gaining than it, and Sound Track for one game may not get to the next, there is new characters and most of the environment for the next game would be totally new and probably what will take more time anyway.

I don't see the game being only 3 parts. It would make for a very uneven pacing where Midgar is detailled, fleshed out, expanded and then the rest of the game would have a much quicker pace of events.

Not really, just repeat the same words which you told me before to comfort you a bit.

"I have no idea of it would be a lie" correct, outside non-PS fans, no one would have thought that Square was lying. Well, companies lied to their fans all the times though. Even Nintendo too, when they said 3dsxl didn't exist then just announced it several months later.

This is very good though, fans will get and play each part a lot sooner and Square will get a lot more money for their next parts/games, a win-win situation.

You said "so what you told me originally are not true" means I was lying, and know you changed to I was told a lie by SE. They are totally different stuff.

And again you missed the "if".

But if you are happy to play more interactions of FF VIIR good for you if they make more.

I personally hope that we will see Part 2 release within a year because I don't want to see this remake last all generation, but I also don't want part 2 to be too small, especially if they're going to charge full price for it. Ideal situation for part 2 would be chapters 7-18 (Kalm-City of the Ancients) even if it takes like 2 years, but if they can only manage about half that many chapters (buffed up with new content) I'll be happy as long as we don't have to wait more than a year.

I don't think it will be one year because the Xbox version will be released next year, with a possibility of a PC version to follow. I also think the plan is for this to be a PS5 series of games, so I feel they will release a PS5 remastered version when the Xbox version comes out next year. Thats what Rockstar did with GTA5 because GTA5 came out so late in the previous generation. I think it will be a year after that, so personally I think it will be two years between each game.

I also agree I feel the next game should be from Kalm to the City of Ancients. That gives them a whole game to flesh out everything they want, but still give the player a lot of content for one game.

That would be longer than part 1. Almost doubled.

No because:

Spoiler!
They already told us before the game came out that it be separate from the Compilation of Final Fantasy 7 and .. its not true. They made 3 references to it. Then we have the the ending statement that said " The journey to the unknown continues" . That was specifically requested by Kitase.

That's quite a low benchmark.
