Forums - Gaming - Report- Resident Evil 4 remake in development at M-Two for release in 2022

I would welcome an RE4 Remake, while not in need of one as bad as RE2 and 3; it could definitely due with one still.

That's sweet. RE4 could use some updated controls.

boo. I rather Code Veronica.

Bite my shiny metal cockpit!

I have to wonder, is Capcom using the exact same mindset after all these years, after knowing Code V didn't sell all that well, that they somehow believe it will not today?, in a vastly bigger and different market?.

Are Japanese publishers really that arrogant and narrow minded? (SE has it's own guilt as well).

It just feels like Capcom is going to completely skip over games like Code V, Outbreak and Dino Crisis, on past tense data, that doesn't really fit in today's market, like at all. Anyone here could take a random guess out of a hat, but that's the thing, it's a different market and yes it's am gamble, a gamble a publisher should be taking, not a stupid safe bet all the time. This is why I'm finding myself loathing publishers, because most of them today don't want to take big risks, even for small ones like Code V (which isn't to say Code V is some colossal project of immense magnitude, that it'd require some other worldly budget, that would somehow bankrupt Capcom, because it wouldn't).

We know they only have a limited amount of options left. Remake 4-5, and then make 8, because god knows 6 did terrible and was critically kicked in the head and regarded as shit.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

I'm intrigued. RE4 is one of my all time favorites.

How are they going to screw things up?

I hope not. Feels dumb. The point originally seemed to be to REmake games which were seriously outdated or not very accessible. I don't feel like I hear those problems in regard to 4. Code Veronica would make the next logical step (though, admittedly nowhere near as "outdated" as the PS1 games).

Also constant Remake culture is cancer.

Well the point is to make money from (childhood) nostalgia a trend in the entertainment industry=p  Remake 4 is still a masterpiece but the controls are outdated.  Going back to the game was hard , took me some time get used to it again :p

I don't know how I feel about them remaking RE4.  The atmosphere of the village and it's world were limited by the hardware but were excellent because of it (bit like the fog in Silent Hill).  Maybe the game gets multiplayer content and someone plays as Ashley?  Multiplayer puzzles and more freaky because Ashley can't kill hmm I guess I am feeling interested now =p

I'd take Dino Crisis over either CV or RE4. CV I didn't like for the most part and RE4 really doesn't need a remake. Remaking the RE games after RE3 seems to lead to a bit of a dead end to be honest. Like a snake eating its own tail.

Dino Crisis has tons and tons of potential, It's nowhere near as saturated as the RE games in pop culture and they can branch out with something new after a Dino Crisis 2 remake (since DC3 sucks). My guess as to why they haven't done so yet is precisely because the DC games didn't sell as much as RE and the suits at Capcom don't wanna risk it.

Feelsbad that Capcom are neglecting Code V and Outbreak, as well as Dino Crisis. I was really hoping for one of those 3 getting a remake. I guess after 4, they'll remake 5 and then the terrible 6, while completely forgetting Code V and Outbreak.

Why not new games instead? I can understand Code V and Outbreak as those game still have the tank controls but seriously RE5? I thought this remake/remaster craze would slowly die off after a while but nope, people just can't stop throwing their moneys at worse iterations of already perfected games.

RE4 getting a remake is already baffling enough but RE5 is just going way too far, what's next RE6, Revelations, 7, 8 and eventually the Remakes getting Remakes as well ?

Please change title to RUMOR. Yes it is almost certain that RE4 will be on next gen since they have been putting ports of this in every single platform they can, but this isn't a report, it is a RUMOR.

:-/ One of my favorite games ever. I honestly have a hard time seeing how they can improve it beyond a facelift. Like a perfect 10 going in for plastic surgery.
