Forums - Sales Discussion - Global Hardware 28 March 2020

Well this is just insane. This was the true meaning of the Switch lite strategy.

Source?

Or are we extrapolating that from Foxconn saying their factories would be back to full production by the end of March?

I don't know i just saw that on twitter and resetera. But still i don't think it will take over a month to have a restock since production in China is quickly recovering.

What makes you think that China is quickly recovering?

So people buying the Switch Lite only because the Switch sold out? Glad Nintendo’s handheld market picking up the slack. They deserve all their success. That said it’s a little funny that a portable console is selling the most during a period we need to stay home.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

It has been reported multiple times for weeks. Apple said it was doing better end of February

Foxconn, who manufacture the Switch in China, said they expected to resume normal operations by the end of March:

Seems like PS4 sales are finally down significantly, will it remain like that?

It will take a little time to get them shipped out around the world. But hopefully stock will be back to normal by the end of the month.

Yeah, I wouldn't have a clue how long it takes between stock leaving the factory and making it to shelves all around the world but hopefully the constant shortages of the last few months will be sorted out soon. I'm very interested to see how Switch does when it no longer has to contend with stock constraints, seeing how well it's doing even with them.

2 weeks to 1 month (remember PS4 launch and they shipping by air because of Xmas).

But with covid, who knows.

I've been wondering if any platform holder would move to air dropping.  It's more expensive but we're seeing a spike in demand which may give them the incentive to pay it.  Then again, can they even air drop right now?  To be a market analysts right now...bump that.

Nintendo could, for Sony and MS doesn't make much sense.
