So let's call the velocity architecture secret sauce for SSD on XSX?

The XSX is the superior hardware though, it doesn’t need secret sauce. But if you want to call it that, fine, but at least wait until/if it reaches anything near eSRAM/SSD levels of saucy.

Errrr...

So the SSD is secret sauce now?

smh...

You and some others here didn't wait to call SSD on PS5 secret sauce when it isn't near the level o eSRAM. The most people are speculating is how the data from ssd streaming faster could cover for the gap in PS5. Haven't seem a single person here saying PS5 have stronger spec, with eSRAM that was the case (X1 stronger than PS4).

The one in PS5 is, the compression algorithm on XSX isn't kkkkkk.

There are things the PS5 will be able to do that the XSX simply cannot do. And there are things the XSX can do that the PS5 simply cannot do.

Which of these things end up being relevant or more important remains to be seen.

In this breakdown apparently the velocity architecture handily beats out the kraken. And the ssd will mostly be leveraged on 1st party exclusives, because other consoles and low end PCs must be taken into account.

Lol I refuse to use that label. Series X is just engineering perfection as far as I’m concerned :)

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

They can't make that declaration at the moment because it isn't a black/white bottom line as there are other factors at play. So, no one can answer his question definitively yet and, as usual, you'll have to wait on the games with systems this close in overall compute.

Of course the multis will be the verdict, yet these spec threads persist.

So for the next half year it’ll just be people saying x console edges out the other, others will say they are practically equal, and the remaining will say “we don’t know yet”. Guess we just going through the motions

Then consider 2.5GB/s is perfect to XSX but when you go to put that the algorithm of XSX make the SSD better than the one in PS5 you are doing secret sauce, one that I haven't seem anyone here saying because of SSD PS5 is stronger than XSX (I just seem claims of xbox fans saying sony fans are doing it).

I didn’t need to wait, people here and everywhere else on the Internet did it for me. Also it has surpassed eSRAM in terms of hopes and speculation. There have been plenty of threads here, and a gargantuan amount on GAF and Reeeee plus Reddit and YouTube. Even right there in your reply, how streaming data can close the gap. It can’t. Believing it can or even might is what makes the PS5 SSD the secret sauce of this gen. Thanks for confirming my argument.

Stronger specs isn’t the barometer. But please, don’t act as if anyone here has talked about the velocity architecture in the same manner people have speculated about how the SSD could change things. There’s been next to no talk about that from Xbox users. Again, because it isn’t needed. The XSX is superior hardware. People don’t have to speculate about secret sauce. With Xbone, people did. With PS5, people are.

I don’t see anything productive coming from this convo though 🖖

So basically you are talking of stuff that isn't hapening in VGC. If you are please give the links to all this people claiming the SSD makes the PS5 more powerful than XSX.

You are saying there was no talk of the velocity architeture in this way just a few posts after sales doing exactly this.

Mark Cerny went around asking what developers want, and thus PS5 was tailored to fit their needs. As a result we got a better SSD than what is currently out in the market. Why a powerful SSD is important? Here is an example; Try playing Star Citizen on a slow SSD, or a HDD. You can have the best GPU, CPU, and RAM but it will load assist like SHIT. For a huge and seamless game such as Star Citizen, you need speed, as well as a powerful GPU and CPU. Both XSX and PS5 have very good CPU and GPU, but I think if developers want to make more huge and seamless games with as little load time as possible like Star Citizen, then they're going to want a speedy SSD as well.

This is why I made the switch to a nvme 4.0 m.2 ssd. It's the future.
