665 left now...

What's a good source for remaining ballot numbers? The gaps are getting super thin now and I just wonder how much is left to go.

A gap of just 1276 votes in Georgia anymore... really close!

Where are you getting your numbers? Politico seems to be a bit slow.

You're right, even though electronic voting machines are just more convenient and secure, physical ballots are not really a serious issue. I guess it's just something I came to expect after living in Brazil. Mail ballots should remain an option, but physical voting stations should be modernized. And while you're at it, maybe make them more accessible? I've never heard of anyone having to drive to get to their voting location or facing hour-long lines once they're there in Brazil, even in huge cities. |
For a very long time I was against the system in Brazil as everything can be hacked. And after I saw how Nato was able to cause damage to Iran nuclear system that was totally disconnected from the internet I just thought I could never trust elections in Brazil again.
Then I listened to a podcast with a guy that works with the system in Brazil and started to explain all the tricks that happened in the past with paper voting and were so common, some really crazy stories on how the votes could be manipulated from the voting point up to the tabulation. So today I became a supporter of the electronic system.
It is the same thing I'm seeing right now in US, it's just such a mess with mail voting and gazillions of ballots spread throughout the country. So many videos and stories of wrongdoings. I even got a video, which I hope is fake, of a guy filling ballots one after another inside the counting room. I hope it is fake. And considering mail in voting most likely will continue to exist, the process will only get weaker.
Also voting ID... If a poor country like Brazil can do it, you can be sure US can do it to.
But what impresses me the most in the american system is... WHY THE HELL VOTE ON A TUESDAY???? I know it's the rules, but really, most people need to work and it impacts poor people the most as they would probably feel less inclined to abandon their job for a few hours to vote, also transportation, etc.
665 in Georgia and 18229 in Pennsylvania.
