Sorry, 13k in Bidenland. IF CURRENT PERCENTAGES HOLD, net gain of 7000 over trump in the blue counties. Trump counties, net 2000 gain over biden.

These are ALL mail-in votes. Even in "Trump country", he's not going to make any substantial hay (or any at all) because, as he ordered his people NOT to use mail-in voting.

Whoever wins, it will be a hollow victory at this point.

But Biden is in the same situation. There are places that he could ask that things not be counted so he could win (Arizona and Nevada), states he lost by just a bit and could try for a recount (North Carolina probably), and states that he'd like voting to continue so he could win (GA and PA). Unlike Trump, however, Biden is only saying that counting should continue. You can't say that he would totally do it in a similar situation when he's already in that situation and he's not.

Biden is winning. He is not in the same situation.

If by some miracle Trump manages to turn this around, and Biden still dosen't ask for a recount, then you would have a point.

He could've spouted the same rhetoric Trump does and it would help him, but he doesn't because he's not a crazy person. You can "two sides" this thing all you want but Trump is on his own on this one. I guess I can never prove to you that Biden isn't the same because we can't have two parallel universes for testing, but I think most people can tell that what Trump is doing is not politics as usual.

Well, even if I'm wrong, this is still an anomaly, given everyone's reaction through the internet. And it's not like this will end by friday. It seems that this will run through the whole weekend, and maybe even further. Would you still say that this is normal, even if there is no legal obligation?

And about the counting: Yeah, it is stupid, but this is a competition after all. If the tables were turned, I wouldn't put it past Biden and his team to pull a similar stunt. In this case, I would say it's more a matter of stupid bickering than something undemocratic.

It is not normal. Because we are in the middle of a pandemic. All of my classes this year are digital only. That's also not normal, but that doesn't mean it's a conspiracy or that anyone did anything wrong. Again, we are in a pandemic. If people on the internet think that it's a problem and somehow implicated fraud, then who gives a shit.

I absolutely would put it past Biden and his team to pull a similar stunt. I would put it past Hillary Clinton, I would put it past Mitt Romney, I would put it past John McCain, I would put it past Barrack Obama. I would put it past ever republican or democrat running for office this year none of whom who are making similar demands. I would put it past Rick Santorum, former Republican governor who is right now explaining how the republican party needs to stand up against Trump's dangerous rhetoric. Even Mitch McConnell is not going along with this bullshit.

It's not stupid bickering. It's dangerous. It is saying that legitimate votes should not be counted. It's literally the opposite of democracy, and nobody should be enabling it.

We are in the middle of a pandemic, yet no one, on both sides, had a problem with the mass gatherings that arose because of the election, nor were the eletions given an extra day of voting to give people more time and thus to avoid so much people in one place, to prevent further infections. Just saying.

Plus, if you see the live stream of the counting in some states, you can see that the people responsible for the counting is not respecting, for the most part, any of the recommended distance that should be kept, and all the usual precautions given. So this delay is surely not because of the pandemic. Mostly, anyways.

The election is not over. Let's wait until the end if the democrats dosen't pull a similar stunt.

And just out of curiosity: Asking to stop the votes, assuming you have a legitimate reason for it, is illegal in any way? Trully curious.

Well, no, because whoever wins gets to be president. The fact that their opponent whines like a petulant little fuck doesn't make it any less of a victory. Might actually make it better.

Yeah. Either way, noone will come really victorious out of this.

I thought only people on the right enjoyed that kinda stuff. Nice to see that you guys are not that different after all.

Biden manages to retain his "high ground" by not doing the same as trump, because the democratics benefit from the retoric of Trump being crazy(being that thrutful or not). Thus, asking for no recounts and letting the election go "naturally" plays in his favor in this case.

But yeah, as you can't prove either way, I can't also. Let's just agree that, while I am in favor of Trump, he is seemingly grasping at straws here.

I love how the Trump fans are out here saying "Yeah, we are gonna lose but the Dems should be sad too".

Fuck no. I'm finna party like its 1999.

Leave the emotions out of this for a second, and analyse it with facts.

The conclusion you can make from this election is that the country is exactly split in half, and that most compaigns were not about facts, but rather about beating the oponent, because " he is going to destoy America, and we must fight for the soul of this country". Like most people have been saying, the most important task for whoever gets elected will be to heal the wounds of the US democracy, and that will take years, and will be a full time job.

Not only that, but even if Biden wins, it seems that the republicans will have majority on the Senate, blocking many of the projects that Biden would have (and hopefully keep in check most radical projects that the far left inside the democrats would want to pass), and the House seems to also be evenly split. That will make for a very weak government, because they will have to be constantly negotiating projects and anything the republicans don't remotely aprove, they will stop it from going foward.

So yeah, nobody wins in this scenario.
