Why the crap do Indiana’s polls close so early?

Around the Network

First results are coming in Kentucky and Indiana. Only 1-2% votes counted in those states so far, all being from rural counties, but also so far, Trump has about 70% of the votes

Biden already has 80% of Hillary's votes in Steuben county, IN, with only 51% reporting! He just needs 10% of outstanding votes to overperform her.

Edit - Blue mirage in Kentucky lol

Wait, what?!?
Biden is actually ahead in Kentucky right now!!

Granted, it's only 8% of the total votes, no way is that going to last. Trump is still the clear favorite, but the fact that Biden is ahead AT ALL at ANY point in Kentucky is a damn good sign if you ask me.

It's not just Biden who leads in Kentucky right now; Amy McGrath also does over "Moscow" Mike. And by a bigger margin, I might add, 52-42% right now.

Here's the Guardian page for the Senate and House elections btw:

Aaaaand it's gone. Probably just urban areas counting more quickly. I wouldn't read into it, but it is a funny way to start things off.

Yeah, it was fun while it lasted. As soon as I saw the map, I knew that was the case.

So, Kentucky and Vermont have already been declared, Kentucky for Trump and Vermont for Biden

We have early results from Florida.
Two of the counties that Trump won in 2016, Pasco and Lee Counties, he is winning again so far with roughly 79 and 81% of the votes estimated.
HOWEVER:
With just those estimations, Biden has already performed better than Hillary did in those counties. Hillary did 90k and 125k in Pasco and Lee respectively; So far, Biden is at 101k and 139k and those numbers will only get higher as we get closer to 100% in those counties. Trump at the moment has less votes in those counties, than he did in 2016, but again, that's because only 79% and 81% of the votes have been estimated so far. So, he should finish at around roughly the same or slightly higher than 2016 once they all come in. But Biden has already done noticeably better than Hillary.

EDIT:

35% of the Estimated Vote is in for Florida, and so far, Biden is in the lead by ~96k. Still very early, but it's hopeful.
