Forums - Microsoft - How do you feel about the new Xbox One UI?

If MS didn't care about it's consumer, they wouldn't be updating the UI to make it better.

The last part bolded almost gives it away that you don't even have an Xbox or you really haven't spent anytime on it. You can delete and add groups to make things much easier and quicker. You can even get rid of the store, gamepass, community and Mixer from your home screen. Something you couldn't do before.

Yeah his whole post seems like BS I own a X1 S and a PS 4 slim and even with this update the X1 still has a better UI then the PS4.  The X1 is much more user friendly overall.  Game downloads and updates are handled better on the X1.  Switching games is smoother on the X1 achievements are implemented better then trophies and the X1 has better web browser.

I never cared for achievements, and will never do so, web browser on a console? Are you serious?

xbox slim? ps4 slim? lol so you are playing games in like 1080p or less? Why? Theres been many deals on the pro and xbox X, there is no reason to not upgrade.

And if you have the S, then the difference to ps4 UI is way higher in speed. When I had the original xbox one, UI was unbearable slow.

Yeah? Ok how can I easily eject an external hard drive without switching off the console?

Also my xbox X is more powerful than my ps4 pro, so why is the UI still slower? Why sometimes it takes long to boot the console?

And something not too serious, but sometimes (rare) I am playing a game and the app just closes and gives me an error, no big deal, I just open the game again, but this has never happened to me on ps4.

And if your wi-fi is weak, it will take literally minutes to boot the console, the ps4 doesn't have this issue, it starts in seconds with strong or weak wi-fi.

Also, I lose wi-fi connection way more often on xbox, only fix - delete the wi-fi setting,  remove all cables, wait a few seconds and connect everything again. Then setup the wi-fi again. No such issue ever happened to me on ps4.

I have a 5TB external Hard drive and I'm able to plug it in or remove it whenever without turning my console off.

Set the power mode to "Instant On." It boots up right away.

That happens sometimes with apps, but hardly ever.

Wifi has nothing to do with the console booting up. I'm not sure where you are getting this from. Once again, set power mode to "Instant on."

I've never had to any of those things. If I do lose wifi, the issue is with the the router not the xbox.

When you grow up and have your own house youll learn that electricity costs money, hence no instant on. The only thing I leave in standy is my media device (beelink gt pro) which only wastes 0.3w, but anything over 2w I will not leave wasting energy.

Wifi certainly has a lot to do with boot speed, if you cant get a connection, the boot just stays there trying to connect for ages, check youtube there's plenty evidence of this.

My wi-fi issue is not router because my Mac, ps4, switch, wiiU, TV and phones all work fine.

I don't own a 4K televison and I don't plan to buy one anytime soon since there is little to no actual content available in 4K and I am talking about all video content not just games at the moment so a pro or x would be no use to me.  A functioning web browser on a console is very convenient since don't have to turn on anything else to browse the web.  The PS4 web browsers is terrible its barely better then the PS3 web browser even though the console is at least five times more powerful.

I have X1 S and I can plug and uplug my external HDD without any issues regardless of whether the console is on or not can't do the same think on my PS4 slim.  Also my console pretty much boots up instantly.  My WiFi never drops either but my router is the same room that is probably why.

Excuses excuses, stop riding Microsoft bottom, simple fact is you should be able to eject an external USB hard drive, period, my TV can do it, my PS4 can do it, my laptop can do it. If you just remove without ejecting you could lose some files or mess up saves.

Also, why do you have X1 S? I really do not understand why people haven't upgraded to the X, its way better than the S.

You are lying about booting instantly, unless you have your internet OFF.

Sure I believe your wi-fi might be OK, but go check on google how many people had issues on xbox, I know I had, fortunately I knew how to solve it, most people just gave up. Just do a quick google search. Same google same for xbox boot up.

I love my X, and I prefer my elite controller over the nacon revolution unlimited on the pro, check my reviews for both on amazon, I gave elite a 4stars and nacon 2 stars. I love many things about the X, specially how quiet it is, but I will not lie just to justify my purchase, Im as honest as can be, I have no stocks in either company and I expect nothing short of perfection for my hard earned money, and the same will be next gen, Ill tell it as it is.

Dude! You literally just have to plug or unplug it whenever you want! The PS4 is the one that says the HDD was removed improperly and has to do a system check!!

They won't, they need to advertise, all they care is to sell you stuff, they don't care about user experience this is not apple.

The blades where overrated the final and current 360 dashboard is better.  Also the ads on the X1 aren't band since they only are about games, the 360 had some bad non gaming ads.

The best 360 dashboard was New Xbox Experience. The first major redesign. It took a step back with Metro Tiles design. The same can be said about Xbox One as well in my opinion. I liked 2015-2017 dash way more than what currently is.

I immediately liked it more when I booted up my Xbox the other day. Way more sleek and less cluttered to me.

I agree, but its a little too late, we are 8 months away from next gen, when Microsoft will change yet again the design of the UI, they cant help themselves, its as if the designers don't even know what to do. They keep changing for the sake of change.

The improvement is great but still not as good as the ps4 UI from 2014. But I still have adds that I do not want.

Would you prefer having ads in between game tiles instead of what Microsoft currently has?

Don't assume how I live. I pay for all my own shit. If you can't afford to keep it power mode to instant on, you don't have any room to complain about it. It's YOUR choice to make the boot up longer than it needs to.

It actually doesn't and I couldn't find any videos confirming it. Only time internet effect boot up is when there is a system update. If you had power mode set to instant on, this wouldn't be an issue. Instant lets you download everything in the background and update games while you're not using it.

Then I don't know what to tell you.

I thought people on this site were hardcore gamers, you should know that the X and pro look way better even on a 1080p TV, it basically removes jaggies.

I still cant believe that anyone is praising web browser on a console, I don't think anyone has ever used a web browser on a console.

PS4 is about games not web browser.

Excuses, somehow fans just make excuses, I repeat, I do not leave my devices on, period, if not to save energy, then to help the planet, whatever. Xbox X for all that power, boots slower than ps4 in most times. There's evidence on YouTube, lets not come up with excuses.

If instant on would use 1Watt then I'd leave it on, but 15watts? No thank you That's 360watts in one day for not using the device, at the end of the year I could have bought 2 full priced games for that wastage.

I repeat, I doubt you have bills to pay, if you don't care about the bills. Everyone with a home of his own always cares about the bills.

I'm pretty sure I played way more games in my lifetime then you ever did just on the X1 and 360 I played over 200 games on each console.

Not only that even if you don't turn of the PS4 the right way or you have a short power outage it has to do a system check.
