The store I work at is closed from today to March 27 due to the coronavirus. On the bright side, I'll still get paid for the hours I was scheduled to work for those weeks.

It was 67 cases here in Ireland the last time I checked which seemed like yesterday but I click on our national news site today and it's up 39 cases to 129 with two confirmed deaths. That was quick and it looks like we are aboyt to start spiking.

Uuuuugh, I feel for you! You're just at the outset of this it looks like.

We're now up to more than 3,000 confirmed cases and 60 confirmed deaths in the U.S. as of right now. We've added nearly a thousand cases in 48 hours.

So the big new game slated for the summer is The Last of Us Part II. I find that morbidly hilarious. It's like "...is this a joke or something?"

This is taking viral marketing to a whole new level.

Damn. This sucks. I hope this ends soon. :(

It will probably be delayed as well, I doubt crunch helps the immune system

and it won't be long until non essential workplaces will have to close for a while.

But yep, nice timing lol.

The game was already planned to release way before all this happened.

With or without a virus, life moves on.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Odd, I'm getting refunded for school milk for the week of April 6th as well already. Did they extend the school closures already here. Perhaps the stopped school milk altogether for now. So far it seems it's still back to school on April 6th. Who knows.

Canada is currently at 255 cases. Still low but also slowly increasing pace daily. Still mostly travel related importing more virus into the country, creating new hot spots. Warning signs all around, but keep on living the life until it's too late. If we keep going on this path the school year will be done. How many people will actually cancel their travel plans for March break :/

Official warning now: An official global travel advisory is in effect: Avoid non-essential travel outside Canada until further notice.
Incoming travelers are also told to self isolate for 14 days when entering the country.

So maybe that will help. I guess it's still mostly people returning from abroad that bring the virus back. Of course people will still travel inside Canada, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, popular spots, all with cases and perhaps community spread. Bad timing for a holiday. On the other hand, a lot of people go up North to their cottages, can't social distance better than that :)

Rip the Dutch :( My dad is in trouble.

Primary schools, secondary schools, secondary vocational schools (MBO) and childcare centres will remain open as usual. There have been only few infections there and these environments are less international. Children and young people are not high-risk groups. Closing schools would have a major impact on society without contributing significantly to reducing the spread of coronavirus. Children who have symptoms of a cold should stay at home.

Netherlands added 8 deaths/UK 14  the total cases must be way higher than reported.

Schools will (finally) close aswell in The Netherlands.

So only Sweden/UK/Finland schools are open (Netherlands is yellow but just confirmed that schools will close) In Germany it depends on the State/ bundeslander

The UK is making a Godawful mistake in this, there isn't enough research and if one thing has been sure this hole time the research keeps bringing to light facts that make this worse and worse. Fucking Brexit, man. It fucked them.

They started opening the sealed apartments in China to, apparently, hoards of dead. Who would have thought locking people in with no local community help would result in this.

That goes to show everyone that, while China has been slowly walking away from socialism and becomming a better country, they still ARE a dictatorship.

Sucks for whoever died because of the neglect.

Schools will be closed till April 6th.

Besides schools, restaurant, clubs, coffeeshops will all be closed too.

People are given advice to only go out for essentials, food and medicines and such.
