In two weeks were going to have multiple states looking like New York in April.

Rachel Maddow claims that 84% of ICU bed are taken (by covid19 + other patients), in Arizona.
At current rate, within a week or so, they will go beyound capacitiy.

Thats when mortality rates go way up, when the hospital system cant keep up with the amount of people in need of treatment.

Back in march - april, Arizona had like 100 "new" daily cases, and now its getting 3,000-4,000 daily.

Theres reports of people trying to get testing there (miles long ques), and waiting in line for over 13 hours before anyone would see them and getting a test.
So without a doubt, theres tons of people that probably need a test who arn't getting it there (even with the 3,000-4,000 daily new cases).

So yeah Arizona is now getting its outbreak, much like New York had its back early in the start of all this.

What even more messed up?
In a hotspot where they have some of the most new cases in arizona (Yuma), trump is holding a rally, to talk about his wall.

25+ states are reporting riseing covid19 numbers.

The numbers for USA are very bad atm. Tomorrow the USA will pass the 2.5 million cases with 125K reported deaths.
Average 620 reported deaths per day in the last 7 days and currently over 30K new cases per day.
Week over week change is almost up to 142%, that's only 14 days to double up to 60K new cases per day.
The USA is actually ahead of Brazil again in daily cases.

The next few weeks are critical to tamping down a disturbing coronavirus surge, Dr. Anthony Fauci told Congress on Tuesday -- issuing a plea for people to avoid crowds and wear masks just hours before mask-shunning U.S. President Donald Trump was set to address a crowd of his young supporters in one hot spot.

Fauci and other top health officials also said they have not been asked to slow down virus testing, in contrast to Trump's claim last weekend that he had ordered fewer tests be performed because they were uncovering too many infections. Trump said earlier Tuesday that he wasn't kidding when he made that remark.

"We will be doing more testing," Fauci, infectious disease chief at the National Institutes of Health, pledged to a House committee conducting oversight of the Trump administration's response to the pandemic.

Austin area here... Texas is supposedly blowing up right now. Plus we have some Sahara mega dust cloud hitting soon. Good times... Frankly I don't care anymore and I never really did to begin with. I'm just waiting till 2021 and maybe shit will get better. Sad to see bunch of businesses go under but I also think it's kind of funny. Restaurants are overpriced bullshit and the way they treat servers, cooks and bussers here in USA most restaurants can go screw themselves.

Powerfull words Shadow1980.

Honestly after finding out that some people only carry anti bodies for like 2-3 months..... by next year, I suspect we ll start seeing people that have gotten the virus, get it again. Thats when the sh*t hits the fan, and the scare sets in. When you realise that a vaccine might not offer much if any prolonged protection.

The only solution is to stop spread, until it is gone. Asking people to wear masks, when out shopping or at work, shouldn't be such a big deal.

Is any mitigation happening in Brazil?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

It's doubtful reinfection would be anywhere as severe as first infection or as contagious, even if it can happen after a year or so like for the common cold. That has been the case for all diseases introduced through trade and colonization, and also the ones that caused previous pandemics. Plasma cell-mediated antibody aren't the only way the adaptive immune system works.

This is a pattern that is believed to have repeated itself for literally ten thousand years, by the way. Except for perhaps herpes, virtually any mundane disease you have contracted in your life is zoonotic and has been introduced to humans with great havoc and mortality at some point in the past. And that isn't because flu or whatever got "weaker" as some people believe. After all, there would have been no reason for pathogens to evolve that way if they had been so successful in infecting people in the first place.

Brazil is doing some things to slow down the spread, but not enough to get the spread down.

Brazil's reported deaths have stabilized since the end of May yet remain around 1,000 deaths per day.

Reported cases are still going up, more testing is partly responsible for that yet some growth is also still going on. Reported deaths can remain stable while the infection moves more to the younger population.

Week over week growth is on average 122%, that's about 25 days doubling time if it continues like that.

The Spanish flu came back much worse after summer, an unlucky mutation was the cause. So far it seems Sars-Cov-2 is not getting more deadly but there are signs that it has gotten more contagious. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/12/science/coronavirus-mutation-genetics-spike.html

Plus in fall you have flu season as well. Getting both might make things worse. And there's also the spots of permanent lung damage that Covid19 leaves behind. your body might be able to fight a second infection faster, yet the damage accumulates.

It's normal that less deadly strains come out on top since killing the host quickly is not a good survival strategy for the virus either. However, cumulative lung damage plus flu season on top, better be careful not to catch it again or at all.

So i had a ride in an ambulance today and on my way to the hospital one of the drivers told me a boat did anchor closeby with half of them infected by coronavirus and those people were send to same hospital.
We live in a big connected world and sadly not all countries are evenly strict regarding these things.

Have the US completely removed all restriction except the mask ??

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

It varies state by state. Where I'm at in Michigan we just started to be able to do things like haircuts last week, but I think New York is still working towards reopening. And the masks are sadly too high a bar for some as well and they don't wanna. Probably because our president is an idiot and turned it into a machismo thing.
