  • While we don't yet have hard evidence confirming that Forza Horizon 5 is actually heading to Mexico, we can at least say that we've heard from trusted sources that it could indeed be the case.

Mexicooo, I mean, there's other locations I would have preferred but I think Mexico is the best location thus far for the Horizon series.

Idk about that. I'd say Colorado and Australia are just as good, but I'm sure that Mexico will be made to be the best one by virtue of being the latest, which is really all we can ask for.

Hope to see more big 3rd party money deals on gamepass day 1.

These results without any major exclusives, Lol. Imagine what they'll start pulling when they finally come, I wonder if they can hit $20bn annual if the rumours for this Fall come true.

what's this word? Sus... sustaining? can't be

So COD 2021 potentially being cancelled and rumors of Battlefield being on Gamepass Day One, Xbox and Halo are going to dominate this Holiday if this happens.

Boo, they didn't give an update on Game Pass subs, boring.

How odd... Wanted to see how accurate those rumours are. Seem to be in line with the 1 million-ish subs a month growth that had been happening organically.

Maybe waiting for a certain milestone, they've only announced Game Pass numbers 3 times, 2/3 were in conference calls (Q3 2020 & Q2 2021) meaning they didn't update subs for Q4 2020 or Q1 2021

While they didn't reveal sub numbers for Q4 2020, only 2 months later they announced their sub numbers in their Bethesda acquisition press release, so who knows, they might casually drop the numbers soon still! Maybe in that upcoming PC update from Matt Booty.

They've only announced it 3 times... Seems like they've announced it more often than that. I guess it isn't out of the norm after all.

We probably won't get another update until 25 million milestone at E3 or something.

If there is stock.

Yeah, this stock situation needs to be remedied before Microsoft's potentially fantastic Q4 line-up of Forza Horizon 5, Starfield, Halo Infinite, and Battlefield 6 day one gamepass can have a big sales effect. As is PS5 is beating Xbox Series 2:1 or more on a weekly basis simply by virtue of having more stock. If MS can't get enough chipsets from TSMC due to the global semi-conductor shortage and Sony having a better contract with TSMC, MS might need to eat a loss and break out their fat wallet to pay Samsung or Apple to allow them to use their one of their foundries to produce some extra Series S and X chipsets in addition to those they are getting from TSMC. It will cost alot since Apple and Samsung need their full production capability to produce smartphone and tablet chips, but it's the only way that PS5 is not going to pull into a huge lead early gen, they are already nearly 3m ahead and will be nearly 6m ahead by the beginning of Q4 if the current 2:1 weekly ratio holds true.

Apple is fabless. The only foundries left with a similar process are IBM's laboratory and Samsung. Given they've been fairly close with them, they might as well just start hammering a contract with them.

Didn't realize that Apple wasn't making any 7nm chips currently. Well in that case Samsung or IBM then, MS needs to break open their fat wallet and offer IBM or Samsung enough to let them use their foundries for some extra chipsets in addition to what they are getting from TSMC, since TSMC clearly can't meet their needs currently, due to Sony presumably getting a better contract. You may be right that MS can leverage their current partnership with Samsung to make a deal to use their foundries.

They definitely need to do something, with each passing week Sony pulls further and further ahead thanks to 2:1 or more fabrication for PS5. Even an extra 50k chipsets per week in addition to the 100k-120k per week that they've been getting from TSMC would help for now, even if Sony would still be making more. I just hope that this semi-conductor shortage ends this summer, though I've heard some rumors that it may now last another full year, ending Summer 2022. If TSMC won't be able to meet their needs until Summer 2022, they definitely need to make a deal with Samsung and/or IBM for some extra Series S/X production.

MS isn't going to do that. They don't value the actual console sales enough for it to be a priority.
