Hey guys, it's been years since I've posted on this site, but I'm looking to get active here again. This may have been discussed already, but I've heard rumors that Sony may have to delay the PS5 due to the coronavirus. Is there a chance the Xbox could get delayed as well?

I'd say that if one does get delayed the other is likely to be.

Its unlikely the console launch will be delayrd. A possible scenario we might see is stock issues around launch.

So, there is a rumor going around that Halo Infinite has a $500m budget. Here is how that compares to earlier games in the series:

Halo 2- $120m development plus marketing budget ($163m adjusted for inflation)

Halo 3- $76m development plus marketing budget ($94m adjusted for inflation)

Halo 4- $100m development budget, unknown marketing budget (though Phil at the time said that it was the most expensive game MS ever developed)

If this rumor is true, I think it is safe to say that they are planning to support Halo Infinite long term. Maybe future Halo campaigns will just be DLC’s for Infinite, with Infinite multiplayer supported thoughout the entire generation? I can’t think of any other reason why Halo Infinite would have such a huge budget, and the name Infinite even implies long term support.

That sounds awesome. I could see how a shared world halo could be supported in the long term too.

I wonder if the campaign will also be structured in a more... Episodic manner rather than full campaign at launch then dlc. I personally wouldn't mind that as a Gamepass user but someone paying the $60 upfront may feel differently.

I'm trying to remain cautiously optimistic about halo infinite. You're not helping.

SlipSpace engine and marketing probably takes up most of the budget for the next Halo. Due to it being a flagship title for the launch of the next box, a lot more emphasis is being placed on this upcoming entry.

I can elaborate on this. I’m very active on the Halo YouTube scene. It’s believed that the development of the Slipspace engine from scratch is also part of that number. That coupled with the marketing push for a new generation of Xbox’s. That  Series X and Halo Infinite will go hand in hand. You won’t be able to hear about one without the other, so piggybacking on the new gen marketing will only benefit Halos exposure but technically contribute to its total cost.

Then there’s the simple reason that this is a 5 year game as opposed to the usual 3 for Halo titles. And 343 has hundreds of employees where as old Bungie had what...less then half at their most?

If both are delayed, I say that’s good news.

Sony has more to loose and MS has everything to gain. I wouldn’t mind less PS5s being made available at launch. It would help even the playing field.

Guys I tried Bleeding Edge.....it’s a lot of fun. I had a great time seeing which character fitted my play style. I’m suited to “gizmo”, a long range harasser which spawns turrets for further chip damage.

The objectives are fun, it’s usually point control based but it’s really fun teaming up with your squad. It’s a nice feeling getting that kill, especially when one guy trying to retreat lol.

Think of it as 3rd person melee Overwatch....with some ranged exceptions and considerably less attractive characters lol

I don't get how anyone could like Sonic games. Just tried Sonic Mania and hoped it would be better than all the others I played considering it's supposed to be the best Sonic game in years but I still hate is as much as the others. Terrible platformer IMO.

Convoluted levels that are a pain to navigate unless you know every single one by heart.
Bad controls and weak character moves.
Lame graphics (I know it's supposed to be like the old ones but that's not really an excuse. Generations did it better)
and the biggest flaw which has been in the series from the very beginning, camera is far too close on Sonic. They should've either move it more into the distance or make it dynamic. The faster you go the more you can see of the level. Or give us the options to choose between close and wide cameras.

Never got into it as well. The fast sh*t was a gimmick that they should’ve let go. It hinders modern game design in a major way.

Thomas explaining why Moon won't sell, also sounds to me like their AAA ARPG will be multi-platform but I look forward to it either way, Moon Studios is an amazing studio, although I slightly worry about them jumping right into an AAA ARPG.

Doesn't actually sound that way to me.

"We do own the IP rights to the ARPG we're making. Again, because I'm getting a ton of messages about this, at the end of the day, it just doesn't even make any business sense to 'sell-out' at this point. The ARPG will be our first AAA game, so if at all ever, we'd entertain the idea after that one ships."

Why if I'm so happy with how things are going right now, am I gonna entertain the idea of getting bought out after my first ever AAA game ships? The only way that makes any kind of sense, is if I'm shipping that game with the same publisher that I've been working with, that I'm comfortable with, and the relationship between us has proven to be mutually beneficial long term.

I'm not gonna suddenly consider a buy out cus I made one AAA game working with some other publisher for the first time. I mean....why? To whom? Those guys (Ubi, EA, Activision, Square, Deep Silver, etc.) that I just made one game for? I don't know what it's like to work under them long term. The only way a buy out makes more sense after working with a new publisher, is if you really only did care about the money, and a successful AAA game under your belt (regardless of who publishes) is going to increase your pure monetary worth. If I'm to take this guy at his word, that's not what he cares about.
