Bethesda was almost sold off to EA at one point in time.

Thank God (aka Phil Spencer) that MS bought them instead, EA would have destroyed them and possibly shut down some of the other smaller Zenimax studios. They would have done to them what they did to Bioware
This also confirms what some insiders have been saying for years that the Zenimax higher up were open or thinking about selling.
